GAY Iranian teen could Face DEATH!

Just to show all those here on Pro-U that i am not a Homophob.....this is a story that i ran into while donig my daily news surf. I found it pretty surprising.

A 19 year old Iranian teen named, Mehdi Kazemi ,who moved to Britian to study, has recently found out that his application for Asylum from The Netherlands has been rejected. This means that he could face deportation back to Tehran, via Britain.

He applied for asylum after finding out that his gay lover was executed for sodemy, and now he fears they will execute him as well. "Gay rights campaigner Rene van Soeren said Kazemi's lawyer was considering an appeal to the European Court of Human Rights." Now I do not agree with the choice of homosexuality, but i do not believe that one should be jailed and especially killed for it.

Under Dutch law, and because of the stiff penalties for Iranian homosexuals, The Netherland usually grants asylum to all that apply, but since a previous application for asylum was rejected by Britain, the Dutch high courts felt no need to issue a different judgement.

Now there is a silver lining to Mehdi Kazemi's personal case. British officials do not want to seem non-simpethetic, and have issued statements saying that all cases are reviewed on a personal basis before deportation, which may help Kazemi's case but, "Matteo Pegoraro, president of the Italian-based gay rights group EveryOne, which is lobbying on behalf of Kazemi, has said he knows of 10 gay people executed in Iran since 2005, based on reports from nongovernment groups and activists."

There could even be more executions that no-one outside of government officials know of.
