Hamas, Palestine's new government, has run out of money to pay for 165,000 employees, is running out of gas today because Israel is refusing to give them more gas due to their debts, and may start having a medical emergency because employees can't get to work because of the shortage of gas and ambulances can't get around either because of the low gas. The United States and other governments are refusing to give aid to Palestine. And why, since they are so in debt? Because the Hamas refuses to recognize Israel as a country and refuses to denounce their militant/violent ways of government. If I was in charge of the Hamas, I would just lie like every other politician and say we recognize Israel as a country and denounce the militant ways of Hamas just to receive aid for the country again. But even if that did happen, the World Bank has frozen Palestine's account so if aid were received they still would not be able to get the much needed money. What I do not understand is the statement made by Palestine saying if they recognized Israel as a country they would appear weak. Aren't they already appearing weak by having this economical disaster happen since they are bankrupt and can't even pay their employees. Why are these people still working for the government when they know Hamas is broke and they aren't getting paid for it. I wouldn't work for free personally but I guess each to his own.
I guess the main thing I don't understand is why they won't recognize Israel as a country. Why does everyone in the Middle East, ok mainly just Palestine, hate Israel? I think Israel is pretty dang awesome and Jewish people are probably the coolest people I can think of. Why Palestine hates them and is taking half of their country I don't really understand. I know that it all goes back to the story in the Bible about Abraham and how he had 2 sons, Ishmael and Isaac and God told them they would be at war with each other forever and that's how we get the huge struggle between the Arabs and the Jews. Why can't we all just get along?! :) On one last note, Hamas needs to wise up so their people can get paid and they can get money again to run the country. Horrible things will happen otherwise and things will just escalate and escalate into something even more awful than what is already happening now so just recognize Israel as a country already!!
