I just read in the San Fransisco Chronicle today that Al Gore has cancelled his appearance at BarBara Boxer's fundraiser in San Fransisco. Instead he is leaving overseas for an urgent mission related to global warming. Boxer explained in a note that the mission "could result in a major breakthrough in the fight against global warming." I find this news highly encouraging. Global warming is becoming more and more serious by the day, and a major effort is needed by every single country to try and solve the problem.
I think that many people are ignorant about the seriousness of global warming. Some people that I talk to feel that it is an issue, but thay don't believe that it could destroy entire civilizations. Of course global warming can occur naturally, but the global warming we are experiencing now is caused by people emitting greenhouse gases and cutting down trees. If we don't act, more than 13 to 88 million people around the world could be flooded by the sea each year by the 2080's (www.environmentaldefense.org).

Oh god. Al Gore is going overseas the day before the Nobel Peace prize is announced. I bet he won.
*curls up into a ball and cries*
What a useless waste of money.
Invest in technologies that actually do something to help the environment.
Global warming is a farce.
No, not just a farce, The Farce. The biggest one of the 20th-21st century
Smile Like You Care
Did I ever tell you that I think you rock?
I love it when other people see through the money-making machine that is global warming.
You never did reply...
`lacey
There are no beautiful surfaces without terrible depth...
That's because you were rude.
No you weren't being rude I just didn't really want to reply because I partially agree with what you're saying. I just think that global warming is more of an environmental problem than a political issue. If you look at the science, it makes alot of sense.
Sorry, miscommunication. She was referring to a previous blog, wherein she was rude, and did not pay attention to what I said several times. Her comment was not directed towards you, it was directed towards me. I decided I'd rather not respond to her comment and get drawn into another pointless "debate" with someone who didn't care to open their minds to something other than spoon-fed media bullshit.
