Real women have curves and sharp, protruding hip bones

I always wanted to vent about things like this; about girls who choose to look like an Olsen and not Scarlett Johannson. The mainstream fucking hates this look. I like it, and a slew of girls like me like the style too, but why?!

I don't know what the trend is, really. I notice that people (mainly men) love to rip on girls who look like Cory Kennedy. She's some girl who rocketed to fame after posing for some douche photog who refers to himself as "Cobrasnake." Maybe she partied. Maybe she was underage.
It's almost a rule to take some long-forgotten style icon and redo it. Jane Birkin, Edie, Nico, Joni Mitchell. I don't even know what else. I think this style is too fucking complex for most to get away with. What the fuck is it? Do you have to read a bunch of sleazy '60s-era bios to even know why you're wearing leggings with a fur?
It looks like a combo of the best of the both sexes. The precious features of a little girl (pin thin, tousled hair, big eyes) and a little boy (whatever covetable features they have). They also look like drug-addled models. Beautiful physically but ugly....in some other way. Kate Mossish. Girls like me see the utmost glamour in that. Why? The contrast? Isn't that too cliche or something?
I love this look, but I must admit that it puzzles me. What I love almost as much is the backlash.
"Full-figured" women chime in on how this look matched with the the thin frame is "disgusting." Jessica Simpson spouts off about "the rail thing" in the latest Bazaar. She says that the skinny girls are not gonna get laid, the "curvy" ones are. NO SHIT SHERLOCK. Everybody knows guys love T&A. Why don't you get your little sister to gain weight, so she can get hit on by every guy at the club. 'Cuz that's the point of life, right?
I relish this defensiveness by actresses who try to verbally squash the thin "trend." You can't describe anything as a "trend" when it's nowhere close to being over. You had Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. In the same fucking era. No black without white, no wrong without right and all that crap.
There's profound hypocrisy spewing from today's Mensa-worthy actresses. Simpson laments about thin girls, explaining that they are not going to get hit on by men at clubs. Salma Hayek proclaimed in the same magazine, years earlier, that it is better to be plump and cheery rather than thin and "bitchy." The lesson here: It is better to have a juicier figure in order to be emotionally satisfied and get hit on by club douchenozzles.

I compare the "Real Women Have Curves" movement to that racism stuff I learned about in high school. What was that called? Anyways, the overall message was NOT to hate whitey and join the Black Panthers, but to accept all races equally.
Accept ALL women of all shapes and sizes, whether they are battling obesity or bulemia. Slamming the anorexic chick will just make you sound jealous. I don't see any skinny chicks standing on pedestals, calling you shit because you're not as thin as them. Where does all the thin hate come from?
If you got passed on because you "weigh too much," bitch on the casting director, not the skinny bitch who got the job.
I love to say this with conviction, because I am not fat or skinny. I'm 5'7'', 137 lbs. You can all blow me. Sell your s*** somewhere else!

Um I am 5'7" too and can only reach a weight that low if i starved for 6 months and even then (i know because i have tried it) could barely reach 140.
you are a thin one but your also right that that should not matter.
I think the whole hate the toothpicks thing came because they also dressed skimpy and acted dumb and sold their sould for a quick lay.
Just a quick reminder some are either extreme (really fat or rail thin) against their choice.

She's not thin, she's average. I'm 5'7 and fluctuate between 140 and 155. I'm not skinny. I'm average--a little chub in the tummy but generally toned from 10 years of soccer. Hug a musician, they never get to dance.

Haha, I'm 5'7 and 128. This is from not eating. I think its the medication.

My friend is 5'6 and 115. She got depressed and lost all her weight, but now her love handles are coming back. (yay!)

I'm 5 feet 7.75 inches, but I just say 5'8" :P and I'm 127lbs.
*eating chocolate chip cookies as I read this* ._.

I exercise but I never really had to worry about weight. I do get crap from a few people about my size but whatever, to each its own right?:) Great blog I enjoyed reading it.

im 5'4" and weigh between 120 and 125. for me it just depends on who im around what kind of response i get. for example some of my friends wish that i would gain weight(they are bigger than me) and other people think that i could lose a few pound in the tummy, but i think i look pretty good. ive seen what this body looks like at 98lbs and its not pretty! its gross!

I am 5`3`` and weigh 110~120. In summer, I am 110, and it goes up to 120 in winter. A lot of energy will be deposited in the body. LOL!
