Trust

How much are people in a society like we live in today able to trust eachother?  people are constantly lying in the workplace or other areas just to get ahead... and the worst part is, its working.  the process of basically "natural selection" in the work place causes people with fewer moral obligations or reasons not to lie to advance in society.  in a society run by people who have lied or cheated to get ahead, can we trust anyone fully?  this is a very stereotypical topic.  i have basically stereotyped all of society as untrustworthy at this point which i know for a fact is not true.

I am just wondering, how much do you trust others, how quickly do you trust them, and most importantly, how do you choose who to trust?

Sad but true. When you learn that lying gets you places, its hard to stop it. I have a friend who is an actor. He lies to get auditions and it really works for him! When competition is high and you have to do anything to get ahead, sometimes you have no choice. I dont think its right..but its reality.

i dont think the problem is really if its right or not anymore. i think the real problem is whether or not society cares about whether it is right or wrong.

It's difficult to trust people. Society is full of liars...from the government, to athletes, to every average citizen. Many things that you hear people talking about you have to take with a grain of salt, always wondering which parts may have been true. But even our government is a bunch of liars...and if you think that's too extreme, then they're at least a bunch of misleaders. How can kids learn to be honest when their own president isn't?

I think trust a big issue in today society, I think people in today society need to realize that there in no one in this world that people can trust fully because no one in this wolrd is perfect. The only thing that we can do are: take it slow when we find a new friend by taking it slow I meant dont spill all your secret to the person that you think it is a mystery to you. Ask them (friends) questions about his/her life so you get an idea of what kind of people they are.

Sad truth is that I TRUST no one. There are so many sick people out there that it's hard to trust It would take me a few months to trust someone. I chose who to trust by their personality

We've been watching Bowling For Columbine in my American Government class. Michael Moore interview many Canadians, all of which say they don't lock their doors to their homes. He even goes up to a bunch of houses and sure enough, they're all unlocked. Here in the States, few people don't lock their doors. When Moore mentioned this to a Canadian, the man responded, "What, they don't trust their neighbors?" And that's exactly it. We don't.
