I pledge allegiance......one nation...
The whole controversy of whether or not to keep the words "Under God" in the allegiance is a waste of time (this is my opinion, so you do not have to agree with me). I am aware we have many different religions other than Christianity, but we are just saying a pledge to America. Those two words aren't going to hurt anyone, but they should not be taken out. In my opinion, if you do not believe in God or if you have a different religion, you do not have to say the words "under God". Christian people have the right to say those words just as different religions are practiced in America. My friend's mom is Canadian; so when the National Anthem comes on at games, she stands out of respect, but she doesn't put her hand over her heart. If you are a person who doesn't agree with what the American values are, try to at least give people who believe in them respect. After all, we should show respect to others just as we would want respect. :)

I agree. I'm not American myself so when I immigrated here, I didn't even know the words to it. But I understood up and paid respect anyway. If you don't want to say it, you don't have to. At least stand up for the country that you're living in...whether you like it or not. You know what, some Americans don't even know the entire pledge!

I agree with you. Those words have been there for years and need to stay. I had my daughter saying it when she was 2. When I am in either school and it comes on I stop say the pledge ALL words. People who do not like "under God" came here to live for a reason. They should respect everything about this country.
