In the last ten minutes I spent on this website, a thread called "Brittney Spears is a poser" (along with three other Britney Spears threads) kept appearing under the Last Viewed. When it came up for the tenth time, a question finally dawned on me: is Britney Spears really a poser? We need to take this issue to a whole new level.
First, it is important that we know what the word "poser" means. As it is, my ever-reliable dictionary says poser is either (1) a question or problem that is puzzling or confusing, or (2) a person who poses.
Well, let us use the first definition and ask to ourselves: is Britney Spears a "question or problem that is puzzling or confusing"? Of course! Haven't we answered it by asking this very question? Britney Spears is puzzling. That is why we wonder a lot of her. How did she get famous anyway? She can't sing. She doesn't write songs. She doesn't play any instruments. She doesn't even look that good. Maybe once upon a time she had the seductive body of an innocent Catholic school girl, but hasn't anyone else but me noticed she has gained at least fifteen pounds ever since?
Then there is also The Mystery of Britney's Breasts. Very intriguing indeed.
Since Britney Spears has been proven guilty of being a poser using the first definition, let us now take the alternative definition: is Britney Spears a "person who poses"? My dictionary offers a lot of definitions for the verb "pose," and one of them is "to place in a suitable position or attitude for a picture."
Seeing that Britney Spears is a celebrity, such action is hardly unexpected. If you want to be a celebrity, you just have to pose for pictures a lot. If you refuse, not only will you be considered a snob, but paparazzi would snap a picture of you when you're not looking anyway. Might as well pose to look your best.
As we can see, Britney Spears is most definitely a poser, no question asked. This blog says nothing of her being a poseur, but honestly. Stop pointing out the obvious.
