Imagine Batman, racing through Gotham City, risking his life to protect innocent lives, clearing the names of wrongly accused victims. Why does Batman keep his identity a secret? Why does he not bask in the effervecent glow of his glory? Because he would be jailed if anyone knew his true identity. The modern world has no place for vigilantes.
Apparently the same goes for websites and major corporations.
A new Hero has emerged: www.wikileak.org
Don't bother atempting to visit the site.
It was recently shut down and it's domain name was banned from use.
This website took it into its own hands to post records of corporations that participated in illegal or inethical actions. How many people have actually THOUGHT of doing this? Even less actually having the balls to do it.
So what happened? Why is this website shut down?
The Julies Baer and Co. bank in Zurich is sueing for WikiLeak posting their bank records on their site.
Dynadot (The company that hosts the the website) shut down the website last week.
This is a website that boasted 1.2 Million documents on unethical acts including an operations manual on Guantanamo Bay!
Why would we shut this down!?
Want to know the best part? The alledged stolen documents were taken by an employee. So what law did Wikileak itself break?
And wow...Is anyone surprised that an employee would get upset that is company is makin illegal transactions? And why are we punishing the vigilantes?
This is the greatest outrage against free-speech. Wikileak has relocated to www.wikileak.be so please show your support.
Just like with Batman, the only reason you would have to fear this group would be if you had done something unethical yourself. Which leads to the obvious question...what does corporate america have to fear?
One can only hope Wikileak will remain defiant and that this outrage will only increase their output.

The link isn't working.
I hope wikileak continues to survive. That is an incredible idea: identifying companies involved in unethical and/or illegal operations. Wow. This should be a public service announcement or a state funded site, not a secret!

I agree with you totally and completely.
This isn't even an American program but it damn well should be.
It's supposed started by Chinese journalists but no one really knows.
The first link works... the second does not.

Oh..I guess I got them switched.
Thank you.
By the way, if you want your picture to show up here, you'll have to upload to this site versus the creative writing site. We have a glitch with images over there that the tech team is still trying to work out
