The modern world has been turned on its face.
Society has so strongly railed against stereotyping that I see a new trend developing.
A trend of reverse-stereotyping, where individuals shun their stereotypes to the point of throwing off the societal balance. I'm not talking about civil rights, racism, woman's lib, gay rights, or any of that. But at the same time I am. Allow me to explain.
These groups, set forth with all the best of intentions, only to (like so many other things) become corrupted and twisted into a fearsome beast that shakes the foundations of out society.
Now, before anyone goes off calling me a racist or the likes, you should know now from reading my other blogs that I am a strong advocate of, wait for it, EQUAL RIGHTS.
Let me clarify, because this is the key point of my issue. I advocate EQUAL RIGHTS. That no one is set group of individuals is inherently better then the others.
So I look around at the decadence of our modern "Politically Correct" world and sigh at what I see.
I understand, embrace and support feminism, but I cannot grasp why certain members of the Feminist community would label themselves "Feminazis" and go traipsing around crying outrage and discrimination every time a woman doesn't get selected for a job position or doesn't win an election. Men have been whipped into cringing, and submitting to their will; afraid of being called a "sexist" or a "chauvanistic pig". These women believe in Women as the Dominant Sex. On what grounds do these claims come from?
I find it a bit hypocritical that these individuals hate men for the exact same things these women are doing to men.
These "extremist" women denounce feminity as petty, but is the alternative of manliness so much more appealing? Why is a woman not allowed to make herself feel pretty by dying her hair, wearing fancy clothes, and putting on makeup? Who cares if YOU think they're being "brainwashed" who are YOU to tell them your wrong? Just because YOUR views are different, that makes them better? All I see is that is makes you no better then the dominating men you despise so much.
I'm aware these are STEREOTYPES, but thats only because the issue I'm addressing concerns stereotypes.
These "stereotype-rebels" scoff at stay-at-home moms, making them feel inferior. More and more men are becoming stay at home dads while their wives go out and try their hand at being the bread winner. This effect has created an era where men are stereotyped as dumb, slow and ineffecient.
How many commercials have you seen lately where the men bumbled around helplessly, until street-savvy and intellectual mom comes bounding around the corner with a knowing smile like "here he goes, screwing up again", to save the day?
While women cheer at being finally recognized, doesn't it get a bit tiresome?
Am I yet allowed to ask the question: "Aren't we just reversing the stereotype?"
What does this solve but shift the blame and give another group a turn at being second-rate? Sure, short-term it's fun to make peopel suffer. Why not? They deserve it.
But think about the long term effects and complications.
Consider blacks, african-americans, whatever. For starters, isn;t it ridiculous how "Black" people can't be called "black" but they can call us "white", and "Cracker", and whatever else they feel like? Why don't we demand to be called caucasian?
I understand the purpose was to eliminate discrimination, but isn't all your asking for is to have more attention called to you? How is making us walk on glass around you and your "sensitive subjects" going to heal anything?
Yeah yeah. I know I seem insensitive. But look, I'm a Jew. I don't get offended when people wear swastikas, because hey...guess what? They're Nazis. So if I make them remove their armbands around me because they're "offending me" will that stop them from being Nazis? No. It will ahve no effect on them, except mayeb to make them hate jews more. As long they're expressing their views in a NON-VIOLENT matter, they have every right to do so. If I tell them they can't talk about how they killed 6 million of my ancestors, will it make it any less true?
Now we live in an age where black comedians are hilarious because they can mock any race they want, and white people have to stick to jokes about sex and the office. Aren't white people being discriminated as well?
This era views White Males as "ignorant", "racist", "lazy", "chauvinist pigs". And...isn't that a stereotypes?
So now the stereotype-definer has become the stereotype, and all the minorities have cast off their old stereotypes, but all they have gained are new ones. Women are viewed as either one of two extremes "bubbly-sluts" or "butch-dykes" because the women themselves fling these stereotypes on one another. Now if your a feminist, you must be a lesbian, and if you like girl things, you must be a bimbo. If you're black you're either a "gangsta" if you maintain your "culture (aka stereotypes) or you've "become a darker white man" if you've actually tried to make money in the corporate world (as opposed to becoming a rapper, pro athlete, a pimp, or a criminal). If you're a gay man you have to be Flamboyant and if your a lesbain you have to be a lumberjack.
WHITE MEN DONT CREATE THESE STEREOTYPES.
And you knwo it's true. we're too afraid of offending anyone these days to actually point the finger anymore. All the minority groups point fingers at each other now.

Commercials now all require a minimum of one white man, one chinese man, one black man, and a girl to all laugh together at one point. Maybe if people stopped making guidelines for how they "deserve" to be treated, everyone would be more comfortable around everyone else because they would stop having to focus on everyone's little social whims and could just treat people as people. Maybe these commercials could really BECOME true, instead of being FORCED to be true by our Polical Correct Mentality.

Liberated Women= Women who want to have a life and career of their own and not remain subservient to men.
Feminists= Women who desire to be equal to men on all terms and live by an "Anything you can do, I can do equally if not better". They want women to be able to play all sports and participate in all facets of life that men do.

In fact, as late as the 90's, some country clubs specifically disallowed Jews as well as other minorities from being members and it was written into their charters. You should thank the popularity of Tiger Woods for those restrictions to be lifted.
Anyway, why are minorities so uptight over racial terms? Because the racial terms whites use have a long and painful history with minorities. All of the terms whites came up with were used to historically oppress minorities. In the 60’s, minority groups came up with different terminology that whites historically have not used.
As I understand it from my ethnic studies classes, the reason the term African American was settled on was because the word Negro is a term chosen by whites, and is much too similar to the slur nigger. So similar, in fact, that the respectable whites who used the term Negro sometimes interchanged it with nigger. Black was discarded because it is a synonym for “evil,” “cheerless,” and “devoid of soul.”
The reason the term whites was not rejected is because the term was self-selected by white people. Also, nothing in the historical use of the term suggested that it was ever used as a pejorative. In fact, even the term cracker is used by other whites. For instance, a familiar, friendly term for whites down in Georgia is the “Georgia cracker.” So the use of “cracker” as a slur really has limited effect. If you are a minority in this country, any name the majority can come up with to call you has a much more profound effect on you than any name you could come up with to call them.

ok, dude. your completely wrong here. the Irish, Germans, Jews, Italians, Spaniards, Slavs, and Greeks were all at one time not classified as "white". that all ended in the 1940s. does that germans arent crackers? or the irish? those are the two largest ethnic groups in america, and make up a large percentage of the "white" population. besides, being jewish isnt a race. its a religion. there is a hebrew race, which is in the same family as arabs, but they dont make up the majority of the jewish people. most jews have lived in european society for so long, intermarrying and such, that they ARE white. theres no other definition for it. on top of that, there are large "jewish" communities in ethiopia. and what about people like lenny kravitz? im pretty sure hed be pissed of if you used the N word to describe him even tho hes jewish, just like Zephyr_Aurion may be offended when called a cracker.

That's right. This is why I don't understand why these groups think like white people today. They had a bad history of being discriminated against, yet, the minute they achieved the status of "white" person, they discriminated just as badly.
Irish organizations, for instance, helped Chinese organizations often when they were both discriminated against. Yet, less than two decades later after gold rush fever slowly died down, these same Irish communities started targeting and rioting against Chinese communities when mining and railroad companies began to pay Irish workers slightly more money.
The same thing with Jews. After WWII, most still weren't considered in the same class as white people. There were neighborhoods carved out for Jewish settlement. There are historical communities today that have extremely high concentrations of Holocaust survivors. However, just a few decades later after, Jews call themselves white people and suddenly, they seem to completely forget the discrimination they faced not that long ago.

im white. i never did anything to any black people. i never, nor did my ancestors ever, own slaves. most of white people in the south never owned slaves either. if you remember your history, the maority of slaves were owned my a few wealthy landowners. should the turks give special treatment to slavic people or the greeks or armenians when those groups live in turkey? the turks had them as slaves. in fact, they had so many slavic slaves, that that is were the name "slav" comes from. or perhaps the japanese should let the koreans use any kind of racial slur because they kept them in concentration camps and worked them as slaves? hmmm? were are the ONLY COUNTRY still obsessed with this shit. get over it already

Despite what popular culture might "call" it, you cannot be a Jew by decent. You can be DECENDED from a line of Jews, but in no ways does that make you a Jew. It's a personal decision that a young man or woman confirms when they have their B'nei Mitzvah.

Look...this isn't really a difficult concept. "Judaism" is a a religion. There is "Culture" within the religion. But I'm pretty sure if you told a Christian from the Middle East that he was inherently Islamic whether he likes it or not, he would get pretty pissed at you.
You don't understand religion or culture, and if you for someone who claims they know so much about history (From the few wikipedia articles you read at least), you really don't know a whole lot.
