I'm just wondering... what does the word love mean in the eyes of people in our society?
I personally believ that the word love is one of the most misused words in the english language. People are very quick to use this word when they believe it will benefit them, for example many teenage guys are willing to use this words if they think it will get them some "action". this word is also very underused in situations where it should be used more often such as within families. So i am just wondering... as a question to all the people out there, what does it mean to you when you say "I love you" to someone else?

For me, love means to care about someone so deeply that you are willing to overlook their quirks and accept them for who they are. It means sometimes putting that person's needs before your own (as long as you're not harming yourself in the process).
I agree that the word "love" has been somewhat diluted nowadays. I guess for me the meaning of love is something that transcends anything physical---something intangible and purely on an emotional and spiritual level.
to me it means that you truly care for that person. I agree with the person on top of me. People do take advantage of the word.
