How much youger will these pregnant girls get?

Tagged:  •

Every year it seems like what used to be pregnant teenagers are now pregnant kids.  I know people think that this subject is redundant, but it can't be ignored anymore.  My nephew is only 13, and he has a 1year old son.  This is ridiculous.  He even told me about a ten year old in his class was pregnant.  I look around and it's like these older guys are taking advantage of little girls, and little girls are dressing like grown women.  When I was ten, I was still playing with Barbies.  What should we do to fix the problem: Teach about absinence or contraceptives.  Who do you blame, the parents or society?

In my high school over half of the girls are pregnant and most of them are freshman. I personally think that schools should have a class on absinence and contraceptives. I think that its the society that is teaching these young kids that its ok to have sex and have kids at the age that they are having them. So can schools teach it or can the society do something better to prevent it.

US schools do have a class on abstinence and contraception, it's called Sex Ed, but it doesn't work most of the time because young girls are still naive about the dangers of intercourse.

Well, since most sex ed classes just tell you the basics and don't mention birth control (because that would be promoting promiscuity, and we can't have that), it's pretty pointless.

There's a limit on how young they can get, because of biology. Ask your parents.

Well, I guess this little girl developed early. Just because biology allows it doesn't make it okay for a 10 year old to get pregnant. These young girls idolize rap stars who just talk about sex, money, and drugs.

I don't think all girls idolize rap stars and television movies and that's why they get pregnant. Our society is centered around sex. It's not just television and music that promote this image.

I know 3 girls in my senior class that have had babies. On my school campus there's even a seperate school for pregnant mothers in Volusia county. It's crazy how many young girls are having kids. My mom would kill me if I came home pregnant! I don't understand why girls that are still in school would even want to have kids. Why do their parents even allow them to have the baby?

My school is the same way. They even provide daycare for the girls who are in school. A high school is no place for a daycare. Besides, making a separate school for them just makes it seem like the school is trying to hide the problem from public view.

i don't think the problem is teaching contraception, the problem is that in all our nation's experience, we still neglect to teach kids anything besides what's clinical. If they're lucky, they learn what they need to know about their bodies, but in truth this knowledge does little to protect them if they in turn don't learn the wrong and right reasons to have sex.

I was always taught that sex was to be shared with a person you love after you get married. It worked for me. I honestly think that parents have the biggest impact on a person's life. They should take advantage of that.

For those of you who know my moral and sociological views on this are obvious, and for htose of you who don't I'm sure someone else will say the same thing I would eventually anyway(assuming htey haven't yet)

But the debate on the biological constraints on how soon a girl can be impregnated is interesting.

I heard a theory once that the reason girls are developed enough for children at earlier and earlier ages is because of the growth hormones we feed cows and chickens these days.

But its definately true that in the last few generations, I don't know about hte generations before that, the majority of girls have been physically able to have children long before htey were psychologically capable of taking care of one.

Not to mention cultural factors of child rearing.

and back to the subject I wasn't gonna talk about... I'm not against sex ed in schools, but I don't think it does most of the children any good. It gets through to some, but it takes a parent or someone who truly loves the child teaching them the right and wrong of it, and/or the wise and unwise of it to get through to them. Not nearly as many kids have that anymore. Families are broken, parents are focused elsewhere. The %'s are nearly as high as it might seem to people, but it only takes a few now to dominate the next generation. and we're working on producing the 3rd generation of kids with this growing problem

You bring up an interesting point. I think the hormones theory is a little out there. However, psychologists have done research that proves that large amounts of psychological trauma (being raped, abused, parents divorcing violently, etc.) can cause early development. Very true in my case, and in many others.

actually, census data, and social program data is showing that the number of out of wedlock prenancies ages 10-16 has dropped.

I don't know if I can take your word for that. Could you post a link to this data.

you can't take my word for that. I'll try to look around for the link. Ironically I had just read it like 15 minutes before that post. But it was one of those newfeeds that eventually whats on the front page of the link changes.

I'll look for it but it might take me a while...

I'm a Senior in High School and It does seem kids get pregnant more and more younger. I think we went wrong by saying do it but with protection. Yes we should use protection but I think we should have just told them all in all it's not a option right now don't have sex. While at school classmates have set and talked about their sex lifes. The ones telling the stories are the sexually active ones. The ones like me and some of my friends just sit and listen. It's amazing their sex lifes are like adults I'm 17 and I've heard and seen kids my age and younger do more than a porno does. For one our society makes sex look cool and like it is no harm but then we have these programs and stuff about aids and it kinda stupid you just showed someone having sex one week then the next you have a program on about aids! We really are not helping when almost every movie or show on tv has a small or big sex sceen in it. It's how you are bought up also if you have it set in your mind you are going to screw every dick and tom then thats you what will happen we never know but if you say you are going to wait to marriage you are alright because if you haven't had sex you can't be pregnant!

I thin it is sad to have a child at age 12. Where are the parent at?

im 15 and i believe in being pure until marriage.
i know how boys are. and some girls...
boys always want to have sex and they always talk the girls into having sex with them. girls are so naive. guys always tell girls that you cant get pregnant if you do this or that..when everyone SHOULD know you can get pregnant if you have sex AT ALL. sometimes even with a condom and birth control. but i think that if you are going to be having sex you should be on birth control (which makes you fat btw) and always use a condom. no matter what.
i thank my mom for informing me about this really early in life..
not only can you get pregnant from having sex you can get diseases and viruses from sex too.
i have 3 cousins that are all girls..1 is very very naive..and had sex when she was only 15 and she now has the HPV virus..my cousin who is now 20 and has a child that will be 1 in january she had sex when she was 17 because she thought she was in love with her bf..her older sister got pregnant before she was 18 and aborted her child. shes married now and has a child that will be 1 in april..shes lucky that she could even get pregnant. abortions can mess up everything down there...and can make you unable to conceive.

my mom got pregnant at 17 with my older brother. she was going to marry her bf and they had sex ONCE. her FIRST time. and she was pregnant. of course he denied that it was his child and broke up with her and did not help her at all throughout the pregnancy or until the baby was about 2 years old..then he decided he wanted his son (that he said wasnt his) and fought my mom for custody just so he didnt have to pay child support. he and his new gf framed my mom saying that she was giving my brother drugs. when she wasnt. they tested him and sure enough..he came out positive..to this day my mom still doesnt know how they got there. i think his dad gave them to him.

i strongly disencourage abortion. if you think you're ready to have sex then you should think that you are ready to have a child and deal with the consequences if you do get pregnant. abortions should be abolished. its MURDER. and i think that parents should not support abortion. not only is that your grand child its your daughters child. nobody can have that. once you murder that child you are giving up that childs life. all the ups and downs..all the good times. first steps, first word..everything that is so beautiful about children. so many babies are killed every year and i blame the parents.

my mom recently got married and was trying to get pregnant AGAIN. and she tried for over 2 years and was even thinking about adopting..her new husbnd had never had a child and they both wanted to have one together. just to think that all of those babies are being murdered..when my mom s trying so hard to get one just tears me apart.
i really hope you read my really long comment..and think about what i said..if you're pregnant and thinking about aborting..please dont. theres someone like my mom out there who would LOVE to adopt them. just please dont resort to murder.

my mom is now pregnant with a baby girl..and i couldnt be happier.

thanks for reading this..if you did haha..

im 16 in love and pregnant with a baby boy me and my new husband talking about having a baby i dont think im to young to have one if girls think there ready to have a baby well they are!

I have no need to be curious because the answers to those questions are obvious.

I'll jump past curiosity straight to disgust.

The tax payer funded birth procedure should come with a free hysterectomy.

Younger people in general may think they're ready for something when they really aren't. Two years ago, I applied to medical school, and got rejected from every school I applied to. Having taken a full year away from the application process, I realize that while I thought I was ready to jump into medical school then, I really wasn't. I also don't think you'll ever really be ready to have a kid. I want a kid, but I know I'm not yet ready to deal with the responsibilities that come with that, even though I'd make a perfectly capable parent right now.
