Army Strong vs. Army Of One

The army is changing their logo from "Army of One" to "Army Strong". They think it will help with the recruitment problems they have been having. What I do not understand is why change it at all? Army of One I understood. When in the army you become an army of one, you train as a team but also as an individual. I don't get Army Strong, does anyone else? Or anyone have a guess to what it could mean? Will it help with recruitment just to change the logo? Personally I don't think it will, I'd rather they stayed with Army of One or found something better than Army Strong which doesn't even make since to me. I'll let you know if I find anything else about the army officially changing their name, could be I need to talk to one of those Army recruiters that always comes to my school during lunch.

I'm glad to hear they need a slogan change. Maybe people have finally realized that this is a stupid war, and what's more, maybe they realized that the Army offers scholarships (and I even saw CANDY!) to underpriveliged kids that have no other option. It disgusts me.

What did that have to do with the subject???

Candy? I didn't see anything like that but I know about the scholorships. I know also they reduced their standards for rectruitment and actually reached their goal this year because of it.

The new slogan is dumb. The old one at least had empowerment. This one just makes you feel like you're joining the monosyllabic branch of Armed Forces. The worst part? That bad slogan was produced by a major advertising company for 200 million (tax-payer) dollars. I could've come up with something much, much, better for a fraction of the cost.

I've seen the Army Strong video and it gave me chills. The Army definitely nailed this one. Its by far a better message than the Army of One. Go check out the utube video at the below website. This is how to preview the first commercial that will be out on November 9th.

I think they just needed to have a change. Army strong shows that the army still is just as strong as it was. And making people believe that you will be strong if you join the army, means more people are likely to join. As an army brat i personally like the change to ARMY STRONG.
