College App

-Please tell us what led you to select your anticipated academic program and/or NYU college, and what interests you most about your intended discipline   -    I chose my anticipated major, Urban Design and Architecture, because I desire an occupation that allows me to utilize my creative and analytical skills. I think that New York University is the best place for me to develop the skills that are necessary to become successful in that field and related fields, while being in and optimal location for the industry.

-What did you do on your last summer vacation?   -    The first half of the summer of 2006, I spent doing a volunteer internship in a neighboring town at a governmental organization that is known as Iowa Great Places. Iowa Great Places is an initiative that was started by Governor Vilsack, that helps towns to apply for grants for the betterment of the community. I drove 30 miles away to the office in Coon Rapids, Iowa, and helped to promote sponsored projects and assisted in outreach programs. The second half of my summer was spent traveling and visiting colleges such as Grinnell, Macalester, and NYU. First I went on family vacation to Virginia Beach, Washington D.C., and New York City. After I returned from vacation, I spent time traveling with some of my friends. We traveled to some major Midwest cities such as Des Moines, Sioux Falls, and Minneapolis.
