Crossing a Street

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •

I don't know if this has happened to you; but one time last Summer, I was waiting to cross a street and a woman stopped and told me to go. However I didn't cross the street at first, because the driver on the opposite direction didn't give me a signal that I can go; eventually, I crossed the street because the driver on the opposite direction kept waiting for me to cross. Then yesterday while I was going home after going shopping, the driver on the left gave me the signal the cross; however, I looked to see if the person on the opposite side was going to let me go and that person just looked at me and went. Why do people do that- they tell me or give me the signal to cross, even though they don't know if the driver on the opposite direction will let me cross, too? See, people shouldn't do that because how would they like it if I listened to them and I get hit by the driver of the opposite direction because that person wouldn't let me cross?

well maybe you waited so long for a signal that the other said screw i am going...that has happened to me...second some signal and some dont and pedstrians have the right away...if i gave the okay that i would wait and then you got hit by a car from the other side i would probably but not really say good job way to look out...normal people on big streets stop half way to check for other cars and make sure they are seen before going if crossing at a none cross walk ...safe people cross at lights or cross bridges or walks...happy trails

Happens all the time to me. I frequently have to cross a two-lane, one way street. The driver closest to me stops and tells me to go, but I cant even see around them to see if another car is coming, or I can, and the other car doesnt stop. It would be easier for them to go than wait for me and the other car.
