Write 'love' to show you care

Something that has been digging under my skin for exactly a week now is how unsuportive people seem to be toward teen suicide. Today is the 19th of February and last Tuesday was the 13th (I know you all can do your math). But what happens on the 13th is either unknown or disregarded by many people. Last Tuesday was the one day in the year that has the most teen suicides. It is the day before valentines day and what many people in the school agreed to do was write "love" on their arms to show that they supported and cared about teens that fell like there is no other alternative to their lives and want to kill themselves. I sympathize with these people because I too have been there. At one point in time I thought there was no existance left for me and the world was out to get me and nobody cared. My parents pulled me through that and I know that there is more to life then just being another person hogging all the oxygen and taking up space. To get back to my story (I tend to drift) there was only 3 people from a group of about 30 or 40 students that actually wrote love on their amrs. I am included in that 3. What I want to say to everyone is to just get out there. Dont make fun of kids because they are depressed because you need to walk in their shoes before you can ridicule them and belittle them. Theres no reason to be hateful to anyone for their problems. You dont make fun of mentally challenged people because they cant help themselves. Well suicidal teens cant help themselves either. They need to be helped and they need to be shown that someone cares and ACTUALLY cares. There is so much good in this world that can be reached and reached easily. Get out, get active, dont dwell on all the bad occurences in your life. Just live and laught and enjoy yourself and the people you choose to suround yourself with. Enjoy life while you have it and next time February 13th comes along be sure to write "love" on your arms to show that you care.
