trouble maker or innocent

So I am a foster kid. What's the first thing that runs through your mind? Is it I wonder what she did to get put in foster care? If this is what your thinking then it is wrong. A lot of people associate foster children with trouble. This an unfair stereotype. Most foster children are thrown into state care because of their parents. Did you know that? I have had so many problems at most of the schools that I have gone to because people already think that I am scum just because I am a foster kid. There was a time when I started to fight and cause trouble just because others expected me to. I went home every night and thought to myself it is not fair. I am a good person so why can't they judge me for who I am rather than what I am.I put so much effort into trying to make other people like me that for a long time I hated myself. Then I realized that I can't change their minds. The only thing that I can do is watch my own actions and be a person that I can be proud of and hope that is enough to influence the people who actually want to get to know me.So if you run into a foster kid please keep in mind that it might not have been that was the problem but their parents. Be sympathetic an you might make a friend for life.

Yeah that does suck, but personally I've never thought about that about a foster child, and I can honestly say that nobody in my life right now thinks that way either. The people who think that way are just being judgemental. They have no right to be!
I will admit that I've met a lot of foster children who do have troubles, but don't we all? it's not just foster children.

Abused kids tend to be "trouble-makers", and foster kids don't typically do well, maybe that's the reason for the reputation? Though frankly I hadn't heard anyone say something like that before.

(You might find this interesting, part of it is about foster care: http://www.progressiveu.org/210947-child-abuse-usa-abuse-home-substance-...)

When I think of Foster kids, I don't think I've ever thought of them as bad kids. I usually think children wind up in foster care because of their parents. I guess that might make you feel a little better?
