Wounded Soldiers

I have a friend who came back from Iraq, missing a leg. This changed him forever. He is now so timid and unsure of himself. He goes around all day aimlessly like he doesn't believe he's supposed to be here. He keeps telling me that he should have died back in Iraq. That way he could have died for his country instead of having to die here in the US without a leg. He seems to has lost his purpose. If we are doing this to our soldiers when they come back is what we're doing over their really right?? Why do we keep putting more and more people over there if when they come back they fall to pieces? I understand they feel they have to do it for their country but when we get them back they are entirely different it's like we lost them forever to the war. What are we truly doing to our soldiers over in Iraq? We lose them to the war. We lose them to PTSD. We lose them. All because we think we should be over there to help. I don't know anymore.
