why would you want to eat a another person? Is food or other meat not good enough for you that you have to eat another person? I have studied something where cannibalism only happens if you have nothing to eat. For example that soccer team who plane crashed in the mountains of south america. They ate each other organs to stay alive. This is the most grosest thing i have ever heard. I would probably throught up. I can understand when people eat each other organs to stay alive when they have no other way to live.
What about people that eat each other for fun? For example about 40 miles from where i live this guy kidnapped a girl and chopped her off in his restroom. He was eating pieces of the girls body when the cops should up and eventually eaptured him. Now just think about how much her family is sad. Are they going to get all her parts together for her funeral. I just don't get. People that do that stuff should be hanged or either kept in prison for the rest of thier life.
This is some information that i got from a source about cannibalism which i thought was really interesting.
Anthropologists such as Tim White suggest that cannibalism was common in human societies prior to the beginning of the Upper Paleolithic based on the large amount of “butchered human" bones found in Neanderthal and other Lower/Middle Paleolithic sites.[17] Cannibalism in the Lower and Middle Paleolithic may have occurred because of food shortages.[18]
In Germany some experts have observed 1,891 signs of cannibalism in the caves at the Hönne (BC 1000 - 700).
Cannibalism is reported in the Bible during the siege of Samaria (2 Kings 6:25-30). Two women made a pact to eat their children, but after the first mother cooked her child, the second mother ate it but refused to reciprocate by cooking her own child. Almost exactly the same story is reported by Flavius Josephus during the siege of Jerusalem by Rome in 70AD.
Cannibalism was documented in Egypt during a famine caused by the failure of the Nile to flood for eight years (BC 1073-1064).
St. Jerome, in his letter Against Jovinianus, tells of meeting members of a British tribe, the Atticoti, while traveling in Gaul. According to Jerome, the Britons claimed that they enjoyed eating "the buttocks of the shepherds and the breasts of their women" as a delicacy (ca. 360 AD). In 2001, archaeologists at the University of Bristol found evidence of Iron Age cannibalism in Gloucestershire.[19]

I think that cannibalism started partly as a funereal practice. In order that the dead should continue living and being part of nature, they were eaten. It was thought that they could not rest easily otherwise. I'm of the impression that this mainly happened in paganism, which directly corrolates to Christianity, etc.
There are also tales that when you eat a person you absorb their life force and therefore become more powerful. What is Vampirisim but a diluted form of cannibalism? These rumors exist in all different cultures around the world. Partake of human flesh and blood to become more powerful, condemn yourself in the process, but exceed all human expectations...
More recently, however, I think Hannibal Lecter and the glorification of these practices call to the sick and twisted. Copycats and the mentally disturbed abound. And while I wouldn't know, Lecter seemed to like the taste. ; )
k, and what is your point?
Personally I think there's nothing wrong with cannibalism provided the person being eaten is very dead and was not killed for that purpose.
