Morgages

We all know we are in a housing funk. There are some predators out here. I am sure that you watched Evan Almighty. Congressman long (the villan of the movie) cut corners and used sneaky tactics to make a profit. Just like in Credit Cards, there are predators in lending. This goes true for college loans as well as home morgages.
Katrina hit. People were helpless. Now when a disaster strikes the house is destroyed but people are still on the hook for a non exhistant house and insurance companies want to not pay full price. To me what makes sense is that should eliminate the morgage so people can start fresh. This would be fair.... life isnt fair.
People had delays in payment but the problem is people could not file bankrupcy easy. The reason was it was the change in the laws. People are sharks. I think disasters either the fires in California or hurricanes like Katrina. Once the house is destroyed ..... you are still on the hook for the morgage.
I think there should be punishments for lenders who willingly lie or some brokers that lie to get people in loans in that they can not afforard. Also forclosure affects property values in the surrounding area. Instead of letting properties go to rot. Maybe we should use these properties for low cost housing for those who are left out of the loop. Houses should not cost this much.... people are priced out of the market. Maybe houses are too overpriced. If a house value goes down so should the payment.
