Are we making a difference in Progressive U blogs?

I wonder as I came across serveral blogs that seem to cause controversy which caused by different opinions and ideas that even though we are free to express ourselves, can we speak of what to do for a better future like changing today's media influence that tells us what to do and who to be. We all have the free will to speak our minds, but let's bring the things our generation has the almost the same in mind such as helping others in other countries and share some sort of a common goal even with the different ideas, not to be minimize and not to compromise but to work it through to reach our goal of whatever our generation want to achieve like helping the homeless, providing shelters for animals, providing food for those in need, and other things that can make our community a better place- just going out there and spend the time to give to others. THAT IS WHAT PROGRESSIVE U IS ALL ABOUT THAT DIFFERS FROM OTHER BLOG NETWORK, THIS IS THE PLACE TO MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT BY VOICING OUR THOUGHTS SO TO POSSIBLY MAKE A POSITIVE CHANGE. ( not to sound like yelling here, but to emphasis the purpose of blogging here) This is the reason I blog here, to make a difference in the world we live in even a small difference for the way our environment are and the way we treat each other and not to be like make this world a happy happy land where there is always smiles and peace. That would be scary to imagine tho. We all are flawed in some way so we have limits to what we can do but it does not mean we should not do something as significant as making friends with a girl at school no one really talk to.... So yeah... make a difference in someone's life or your community. Here is one place to start pooling in our ideas... :)

You are perfectly right. We should each do something, even if it a small thing. There are many of us blogging here, and probably we all have the same purpose: creating a better world, if not for us (because it may be to recent), then for our children. But we can do this only in a practical way. Blogging is not enough. It's a good start. It's a good way to find 'allies' in our fight for a better world. But IT IS NOT ENOUGH.

I have gotten irritated against some conservatives here, but recently, in regards to my I'm NOT a Freakin' Liberal! And I'm NOT a Democrat! I am a Radical!! entry, an encouraging thing happened: me and a conservative were able to respect each other and also find important common grounds for a better (IMO, progressive) future. Ideas are best when they are turned into action. Progressiveu, at least for me, has been a catalyst for many ideas of mine personally and to others. I am going to try to, instead of expressing hostility in words, see if I can approach things a little differently if I can. Democracy and its health is something important to everyone. For instance, we need to realize that we need to unite and rescue democracy from the hands of corporations and their lobby money.
