I don't even remember the last time I blogged before today. I've been sick. I've hit the ER once, the doctor's office twice, and gotten my blood drawn three times. No one has a clue. I'm feeling better. I've been pretty out of it and exhausted the past few weeks.
I've missed a lot being sick. Last weekend was my birthday. May 17th, I had my 10th anniversary of my 21st birthday! I was exhausted, but I did make it out for my party. Actually, I hijacked another party, and made it mine. I got my favorite local band to play for my birthday- Stockwell Road (outlaw country, think Cash, Hank Sr, etc). They fit right in with the night... errr... late afternoon. My partner is in a motorcycle club- not a one-percenter club, just a bunch of hooligans that love to ride and drink beer. They scheduled an event on my birthday at my home bar. The chapter from Chicago was finally coming up to Indy, and that was the original excuse for the party.
I don't even know how many motorcycles we had parked along the sidewalk, but we took up at least seven spots... figure 3-5 bikes/spot... a lot of bikes. There's a barber shop next door to the bar, and a sheriff's car was parked there most of the afternoon. When he went to leave, he couldn't get his car started. I think we had 8 people outside taking pictures of the sheriff's car getting towed.

We got there at about 4pm to set up for food (my job, of course) and to get as many motorcycle parking spots as we could. TUC Chicago was supposed to arrive at 5, so I figured 6. On their way to Indy, one of the riders got in a wreck. She was fine, but the bike wasn't. She ended up twisting her knee, but would've been better if she wouldn't have insisted on walking all night.
I don't know when they actually showed up, maybe at about 8. They had 10 or 12 people. I don't think anyone counted all day. Not surprisingly, the Indy guys were drunk by the time they showed up. I think I was the only sober person there all night. (I did have 3 beers, between 4 and 9, but I was sober.) The bartenders were even getting pretty hammered, as anything that could have gone wrong did.
Then the drama started... Roy was supposed to have everyone at his house for the afterparty and to have people crash. He was wasted by 8, so he had a hissy fit relatively early and bailed before anyone else was even ready to think about leaving. Then Zorba offered his place, which would've been great as he lives close to the bar. But then he had a hissy fit or something and ditched.
My house consists of two very small bedrooms, a small living room, a small kitchen, a one car garage, and a mud room that fits a washer/dryer and a bunch of junk I really need to dispose of. It's 1 am. I'm exhausted and pissed that after all the work I did (especially since I'm not in the club), the two guys that had to do anything else decided to have fits and bail on everyone. I can't leave without knowing that everyone is taken care of. Every time we go to Chicago, someone has a bed for us. A few of the Indy guys decided they wanted to stay at the bar. So it's me, Sean, Sean, and about a dozen other people with no place to go. We all go back to our house, and my dog falls in lust with Billy.
We had two people crash with us and the rest went to Sean's house. His wife had recently left him and took their two kids with her, so they had plenty of room. Of course, they didn't have any blankets or pillows or anything, so they all snuggled up with towels.
The whole lot of us went out to breakfast the next morning to say goodbye to the Chicago guys. It was a great time, definitely one of my top three birthdays.

Hey! Isn't the world supposed to end tomorrow? Or was that in December? you'd think I would remember...I am hosting the party, after all.

That would've really sucked to forget to go to your own party...

Happy Birthday to you! Did you get your new tattoo yet?
I've been sick the past few weeks. I want to let my body heal from that before I get another tattoo, maybe this weekend. I'm finding it difficult to wait! I do finally know what I want though- some kind of brightly colored sun on my left upper arm with lots of negative space that goes along with my tattoo on my wrist.
And thank you! It was definitely a good one!
