Is Britney Spears a bad mother?

In April Britney Spears' son Preston injured his skull after a high chair accident.  She was then spotted driving while holding her baby & then on May 14th her 8-month-old was spotted in a car seat, but it was front-facing (babies should face the back until 12 months).   Britney confirmed on May 9th, on the Letterman show that she is expecting another baby.  Perhaps she needs some parenting classes - not all women have that motherly instinct.  Is she in over her head?  Will she learn from her mistakes?

I dont think she is very good mother, but I think she could learn. Her mom needs to teach her or she needs to take some classes.

Seems ShockerBlazer agrees with you.

I think seatbelt laws and other laws requiring safety are government overstepping it's bounds and that should be one's decision. I never wore a seatbelt when I was growing up and don't know if my parent's owned a car seat. I'm fine. Not having your child in a car seat isn't necessarily bad parenting.

The one indication she might not have her focus on her child enough is that her child fell out of the high chair and fractured his skull. This sounds pretty bad but it isn't necessarily bad parenting either. Kids love to be tossed a little bit 'n caught. They also love sitting on thier dad's or uncle's shoulders. My niece jerked once when she was sitting there 'n almost fell back on her head. I cought her and she didn't but if she did she could have been hurt. I don't believe I was a bad uncle because of that.

That being said, Britney could be a bad mother but I don't think anyone except maybe her hubby/bf or whatever he is or maybe her parents or someone who's around them a lot could know that.

I think we should stop judging people in the spot light, and start worrying about our own children. If she's a bad parent then she's made it into a club of millions in this country alone.

That's really sad that there are millions of bad parents out there.

Not necessarily. Just young and depressed for playing the dirty game of taking another woman's man, and now he is wanting to "spend time with his kids"...yeah right....what goes around comes around.

I don't think she is a bad mother. She just need some guidance from people who are mothers. She maybe just need some parenting classes, something like that, you know.

Okay, so you agree with smccauley06.

Babies can face forward when they reach 20 pounds. Do we know how much this baby weighs?

Britney may not be a bad mother, but she is a young mother with a lot going against her. Taking care of an infant is hard work, and every new mom makes mistakes. She just happens to be in the spotlight and there are people with cameras constantly watching for her to screw up. I think we need to give her a break.

She's been spotted making a lot of mistakes, so I suggest that she get some parenting classes. She's indicated on several occassions that she wants to have lots of children. Kevin already has 4 others (2 from Shar that we hear about all the time and two from a previous relationship... hum, could this be a pattern!?!)... but Brit wants many. Not everyone has inherent motherly instincts, so perhaps a little schooling could help.

I dont think she is a bad mother. Any of you mothers out there think.
If you were being chased in a parking lot by one person let alone a group of people would you take the time to carfeully put your baby in a carseat or would you sit your baby in your lap and get out of there? Kids fall from high chairs all the time. But for the fact she wasnt even the one with him when he fell. He was with the nanny. she just took him to the hospital. As far as almost dropping her baby that also could happen to anyone. She tripped it happens. I think people are singling her out and making it more dangerous for her and her child. Yes she's a star but she's also a mother and guess what both make mistakes. Stop judging and unless you are a parent you should not say one thing about her parenting. You do not know untill you've been a parent.

Why do you think she's being singled out? There are hundreds of celebrity mothers out there - she's the only one that's in the limelight so much - just wondering why? Any ideas "Guest"?
