Feeling the Passion

Do you have a passion? Have you ever felt so passionate about something it just seems to be on your mind all the time?

I am a mother of a wonderful 13-month old lil boy and another on the way. Lately I've found that Pow Wow music is one of the few things that has calmed my son since he dad left for his 3rd deployment to Iraq a month ago. Since then I can't stop shaking the feeling of wanting to dance again. I've been dancing Native American style for over 10 years now and with ever song that we listen to I can't help but move. I think back to the days before having my son when I was dancing 4-5 times a week. Since having my son I can count on one hand how many times I've dressed down into my regalia. I miss it terribly. Its amazing when I was pregnant with my son I barely had enough energy to get out of bed, I was so sick for 5 months with him. This time I am still sick but I always feel so much better after dancing a few rounds with my son, a lil sore but happy, like its a new energy. My son loves to dance, which makes my heart to soar! When I dance I feel all my worries and stress just float away, all I think about is each step that I take. Its like I'm in my own world with my son, he is all I see and all I hear is the music. Dancing Fancy Shawl used to make me feel like I was flying, with every step just gliding across the grounds. I look forward to those days once more. Making my family smile with pride and contentment. I can't wait for the day that my son and my husband will join me on the dance floor. To dance again and feel that freedom of movement just burns inside me waiting for the day to escape. For those of you who know what I'm talking about you probably already know, it won't be long and I will be out on that floor filling my heart's desire once more, giving my family a wonderful show to be proud of.
