Election Excitement

Breakfast is too early on principle. Because of the way University of Toronto works, I can only eat at two cafeterias, and they only offer breakfast from 8-10. And if you actually want food, be there before 9:30. I had an economics tutorial this morning, though, so by the time I went downstairs to eat, I was feeling fairly okay with being awake.
"Guess what's tomorrow!" I happily quizzed my tablemates. They had no idea, of course; they're Canadian, so they're off the hook. They sort of just gave me very blank stares without saying anything. "The election!" I answered my own question. "Oh.... Which election?"
I guess breakfast may not be the best time for election excitement, especially among non-Americans who aren't interested in US politics, but I can't help it. First of all, there's Rick Santorum. I personally had the pleasure of voting against him with my absentee ballot and absolutely cannot wait until I know for sure that he is out of a job. He is a disgrace to the whole country, but particularly the state of Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania is not conservative enough for Santorum, so I'm not too worried about Bob Casey's win.
Hopefully the Democrats will win Congress back. It's been 12 years too long, and the last few have been particularly painful. As I said to a friend the other day, "They may be predicting that the Democrats will win, but I won't be happy until I know for sure that enough Republicans have lost their seats."
Cross your fingers!

Believe me, they are crossed. Have been for weeks.
