Why does life have to change?

Tagged:  •    •

My best friend is moving. We have known each other since early grade school. Her dad is military and is being transfered to a different state. This is the first major change that I have been faced with in my life. I am happy because she is happy but I am sad that I will not be able to see my best friend for long periods of time. Thank goodness for long-distace communication such as snail mail and email. My friend is a very godly girl who has been had a tremendous impact on my life. She is honest, loving, and easy to talk to. We have been talking about college and life, and it sounds like our ways are about to be split. Since she wants to go into marine biology, she will probably be moving to an area near the ocean. I do not currently have any intention of leaving dry land. I will miss my friend and I hope that her moving away will not be the end of our friendship. I take hope knowing that God is guiding both of us; and wel will go where He directs. As long as we are in His will, He will take care of us. I don't know what God has in store for us, but it is bound to be better than our wildest dreams. Maybe like Paul and Barnabas, God wants to use us separately to make a bigger impact on the world. I would have liked to have been able to stay with my friend for a much longer time, but who knows. Maybe our paths will cross again. I sincerely hope so.

I think that change is apart of growing. If things stayed the same we wouldn't learn anything, and life would be boring. Think of it as a vacation. Since the two of you are so close she wouldn't mind you coming out for a visit. Sometimes you have to find the good in the bad.

It's so sad. My friends live in the same state, yet they never call or send me an e-mail. I got tired of chasing after them so I'm giving them space to find new friends. Sigh. Life changes and people change too. It can be a good thing or a bad thing. Even if you're far away from each other...with all the e-mails and phone calls...someday you'll probably remember just a fragment of her. Sorry, I'm not helping.
