Good Deed for the Day

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •

A few years ago I was on this kick of doing  at least one good deed a day, even if it was something small.  I would hold open the door for someone. I once gave some one a dollor for the subway. At work one day, I was a waitress, I forgot to charge someone for their coffee. The guy pointed it out to me, which he didn't have to do. He could have just ignored my error and not paid for the coffee. So I in turn, told him don't worry about it. I took care of it. It was 80 cents. No real big deal. So I've been thinking maybe I'll go back to this. I have to admitt it feels good doing some thing nice for someone. Lately I think I've been pretty selfish. Ocassionally I might do something helpful, but I don't feel I am doing enough. I  think if every one would just do one good deed a day than maybe we could all make a difference. It just seems everyone's  out for themselves these days. Everyone wants help but no one is willing to help others. I'm just tired of feeling miserable all the time. When you're sorrounded by so many negative people that negative energy rubbs off onto you. It makes you become negative. Well I've decided I want to change that and be more possitive. Think possitively and maybe my possitive energy can rubb off onto some one else. Which goes back to the good for the day. If you do something nice for someone in turn maybe that person will do something nice for someone else. It creates a possitve energy that will transfer from person to person. Maybe that way we can all be a little bit happier no matter what may be going on in our lives.

I do believe that if everyone did something like this it would help this world a lot. We all seem selfish and horribly rude towards one another for the advancement of ourselves. Good post, I hope it works for you, I've been trying to do something like this too.

Thank you...Good Luck to you too. Maybe after more people read this they may want to try it too.

This is just like the movie Pay it Forward! If you haven't seen it, you should. It's a great inspirational movie. I try to do the same myself, holding the doors for people especially. I think that is one of the least done good deeds today, holding doors for people. It makes them feel welcome and wanted. But I'll get off my "open doors" soapbox. Good luck-- I know you will make someone's life a little easier!

This reminds me of a commercial about the same sort of thing. I totally agree with you and hope everything works out. We should all try to do something like this. I know I'll make more of an effort. *~Heidi~*

Yes, I agree that some people are out for themselves because I asked five of my friends to help me win another scholarship by voting for my entry and they didn't because they only looked at it; therefore, I think that people should make a difference by helping each other.
