So I'm sure we all heard the news. President Bush is sending more troops to Iraq. So what does that mean? 21,500 more troops in Iraq. I was talking to one of my friends last night and she was outraged. More troops in Iraq when they shouldn't be there in the first place right? I don't agree. While we're all getting tired of the Iraq "war" and most of us have someone over there we want back home, we have to understand some things. While the media only shows the bad that's happening in Iraq there are good things going on, of course we don't hear about them because that wouldn't benefit the extremely biased media. A lot of people believe that President Bush just went there for oil. While that may be true, didn't it end up freeing an entire country from an evil dictator? Of course there are some who think that we should have just minded our own business and stayed out of it, but I wouldn't just mind my business if I saw someone getting brutally murdered in the street..would you? I'm not saying that our country being in Iraq was the greatest thing ever, it's not. I agree with everyone else, it is getting a litte tiring, but even if I completely disagreed with every part of it, I wouldn't say just get all our troops out of there now. We have a responsibility to finish what we started, and if by sending more troops in there it is going to get the job done faster, then go for it.

The sad thing is that it was started at all. I understand what you mean about freeing them from Hussein, but look at how they reacted to that... they hated us for it. As some people in Iraq want us there, just as many or more want us out of their country.
I completely agree with finishing what we started. I also say we had a need to be there in the beginning. We had to help those who couldn't help themselves.
People in Iraq, some of them anyway, are going to hate our being there. We completely disrupted the way they were living, but not necissarily in a bad way. They are afriad of change, and are an incredibly unstable country.
