What are we leaving behind?

Today, my pastor gave a sermon... And, he gave us all a thought....

What are we leaving behind?

His mother just passed away, and he was talking about how him and his brothers, and their children...all wanted the little things. The rocking chair she would rock them all to sleep in, the children's books she would read to them, the kitchen table...where they would talk about the real stuff in life...
And he asked, what will people want of your things when you die?

Will it be the things of a money value? Or the little things that made those moments with you so special... those things with memories painted on them, with time. Will they want the poems you wrote, because they meant an emotion to you? Will they want your favorite chair? Will they ask to please have that blanket you loved, because it made you all feel safe when you covered up with it? How about all those photo's you took with friends? Your bible? Will they watch your favorite movies over and over again, will they listen to that one song you were addicted to, and get addicted themselves? Will they look at those people that were so important to you, and respect them more, because you did? Are memories attached to the objects you'll leave, or the places you've been to, or the people you know? What picture will be left to stand, and represent you?

Do you even have anything to leave anyone? Any lesson that will be learned when you go? Is there anything like that in your life?

Ask yourself. Cause I would hate to leave this world, leaving nothing for the ones i love.
