I got pregnant my junior year, I was only 16 at the time. Im now 19 and have a another baby. I did graduate high school and I also got my cosmetology license. I got married as soon as I found out I was pregnant with a man 7 years older than me. Everyone in school looked at me as if they felt sorry for me, but when I smiled back and said hello, they never looked at me like that again. I was a good student, i was a good wife, but i was determined to be the best mother I could be. Age now-adays- has nothing to do with how good of a mother you could be. So I decided I was going to continue my education not only for me, or my son, but for my husband and all other teen mothers. Life is about rough times, bumpy roads, and rainy days. Therefore I take those obtsicles and make it my strength. Sure my husband wants me to stay home with the children, He knows where I am at all times, He knows the childrens' status at all times as well. Until the day he loses everything, Now->Lillian has to go to work!!...lol...No!!I say no to that!!I dont want a job, I want a career, I want stability, I want independence. I want to keep my pride and strength. So Im bloggin sitting here thinking of what to talk about, and im going from 1 subject to another...I just want my scholarship and im willing to say, write, read, sing, dance, about anything... come on people, we have to prove this world wrong...I've done it so far, we can all do it, I ve done it, married 2 kids, and a house...Im one in a thousand, lets make it 1 out of 100...=]
teen pregnancy (how i dealt with it!)
By Lillian - Posted on April 6th, 2008

I am glad to hear you are doing what you dream. So many teenagers want to finish schoo, but get pregnant. You actually did it. I am glad you are trying to continue on with school.
Good luck with everything in life. I hope that I have as much drive in my life sometime as you do in yours in right!
Not to be judgemental, but this husband of yours isn't sounding so wonderful. He got a 16-year-old pregnant when he was 23? In some places that's known as statutory rape. Otherwise, it's known as being an irresponsible jerk. And he wants you to stay at home, so you do? He doesn't have the right to tell you what to do.
you say that. but he is a wonderful , he owns his own business and hes a loving father, hes just a little demanding, thats why i want to go to school, so that i can have my right, and get the independence ive wanted...n it wasnt rape, i i opened my legs to this man ...maybe i wasnt 100%sure about what love meant back then, but i knew i cared about this man, and he did, if otherwise..he wouldnt be working hard for our family, and wouldve never bought us a home, nor leave me at home...believe it or not, many woman wish they were in my shoes, no work, shopping all the time...i dt have a routine schedule...but it gets tiring,,,i just wish i wouldve waited atleast 5 more years..but i have 2 precious children and a wonderful family...and im not going to ever do anything to destroy it..im happy...i just dt know how happy i am until shit goes down...
thanks for ur opinion
For statutory rape, it doesn't matter if you went into it willingly. It means, by law, he was too old to be having sex with you, and your parents could have pressed charges against him for it.

my parents have an age difference of 16 years...no one was pressing charges,,,heard of a thing called Love...?
Was one of them under the age of 18? I'm just giving you the definition of statutory rape. Whether you agree with it or not is your own prerogative.
My mom and stepdad were 11 years apart, but they married when my stepdad was 20, meaning it was completely legal (though it wouldn't be now, cause of fraternization laws in the military, but that's another story).
