An oppressive government and the people's silence

tempestuous's picture

The government, in my opinion, is not willing to listen. I think that it is the peoples job to make them. In my poem, On and On, I hope to inspire the voices of many.

On and on

On and on

The world goes on

It never stops

I can’t go on

Feeling numb

The world goes on

You can never stop

Breaking the silence

Squalling the silence

Feeling the screams

Chilling your bones

Breaking the silence

Squalling in silence

Killing me softly

Ending the world

Feel lives now ending

Screaming bloody rage

Why are we Pretending

Lives will stay the same

All the death and torment

You see it every day

World we know is ending

And all we want is change

You say you wanted freedom

Still we keep on moving

Forgetting what we’ve done

World we know is ending

What have we become?

Can’t look in the mirror

All you see is hate

The world we know is ending

Why would lives stay the same?

Killing on

Riot on

The world goes on

Never stops

So bomb on

Murder on

The world goes on

Why won’t it stop?

Riots in the streets

We feel that’s all we have

Fight against the system

Against a biased man

Governments repressing

The rights that we uphold

What’s motive to follow

Rules that we are told?

What’s to gain in this false freedom?

End now this silence

The silence to world

Scream out your own voice

Don’t let them miss a word

No point in pretending

That happiness will grow

Unless you end this silence

The truth is never known

Silence

Endless

Killing me

Softly

Now the world

Dead to all

Can’t go on

End ourselves

On and on

On and on

The world now gone

We end

Now the world

Dead to all

Can’t go on

Ending now
