No Google did not buy Microsoft today But it could happen in the future
News-- February 1st 2008--Microsoft offers to buy Yahoo
Throughout the past few weeks layoffs have been reported coming at Yahoo.
It comes as no surprise considering that Yahoo rejected a Microsoft merger in 2007.
"Microsoft offered to buy Yahoo for $44.6 billion in a cash and share deal, a move designed to help both companies compete against Google. Yahoo said it will "evaluate this proposal carefully and promptly." Yahoo shares soared nearly 50%. (Statements) 11:44 a.m." Check more out here: http://online.wsj.com/public/us

Now I am guilty of using everything Microsoft. I still have the installation disks for the before 1995 version of Windows.
Sad to say I have survived everything Microsoft

Windows 95 Crashes
Windows 98 Crashes
Microsoft Word all versions
Microsoft Office All versions
Microsoft XP all versions
Microsoft Vista.installations
Internet Explorer All Version
MSN Mail all versions
Hotmail all versions.

In Fact I remember the days when Mail Merge was considered a miracle, along with antivirus, antispyware, and firewall software.
Indeed my Internet friends have made millions from silly little microsoft, yahoo and google secrets and yes they often let no one in on the inside track. Especially "their friends."
Yes I think the reason for the 1990's Clinton Prosperity is not Bill Clinton but Bill Gates.
With that said Microsoft can be considered the "Mother of all corporate predators" Law suit after lawsuit, State Attorney General after State Attorney General has gone after Microsoft, Maybe More so than Cigarette Companies. This is only the opinion of RestinPeace, Your funeral Guy. R.Brian Burkhardt

Today I find myself using Windows and Microsoft Office often. Yet I use Google and Yahoo much more both in my business and academic studies. Firefox provides a far better experience than Microsoft Internet Explorer. So it is no surprise that Microsoft wants to buy Yahoo for an obscene amount of money. And I have not even covered the Mad Microsoft Hackers.. This is brought home by Wall Street Journal articles and Microsoft executives.
I have nothing to gain about saying all this and it is way off topic for me. This information is news worthy and blog worthy. Check out more here in the quotations and link.

"Microsoft said it has made a cash-and-stock offer to buy Yahoo for $31 a share, in a deal valuing the company at $44.6 billion."
"We have great respect for Yahoo!, and together we can offer an increasingly exciting set of solutions for consumers, publishers and advertisers while becoming better positioned to compete in the online services market," said Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer. "We believe our combination will deliver superior value to our respective shareholders and better choice and innovation to our customers and industry partners."
