In an article by Dave Knowles, he reported that although Hillary Clinton won the popular vote in Texas the delegate count went to Obama.
"The Texas Secretary of State will release the official results of the Democratic primary on March 29th. But if initial estimates hold, Barack Obama will beat Hillary Clinton in the race for delegates."
The Texas Delegate count goes:
Obama: 61 delegates from the popular vote + 38 delegates from caucuses = 99 delegates.
Clinton: 65 delegates from the popular vote + 29 delegates from Caucuses = 94 delegates
This means that all that talk about a change in momentum was premature. Due to some townships holding caucuses Obama took home the most delegates despite losing the popular vote. However in the last few weeks, Obama has widened his delegate lead by 15 delegates with his sizable wins in Wyoming, and Teusday in Mississippi. He also has almost a 100,000 popular vote lead on Mrs. Clinton.
With only one BIG state primary left (Pennsylvania), look out for the Clintons to petition hard for a re-primary in Florida and Michgan, an idea that has been shot down by the DNC due to the states holding unsanctioned primaries earlier this year, as well as the cost of $30 million to re hold primaries in those states.
Mrs. Clinton has also hinted at the idea of a shared ticket, with her as president.
excuse me for a moment........LMFAO.......
Alright....I'm back......why would the person with the lest delegates, and the least popular votes be PRESIDENT and the one with the most in all areas difer and run for VICE PRESIDENT?

I find it extremely amusing to see a situation where Democrats are apparently celebrating a situation where the winner of the popular vote is apparently the loser.
Given the stink that Democratis made back in 2000 when Gore won the popular vote and lost in the Electoral College the irony is rich.
You are right, but the Democrats have to stick to the rules they agreed upon. This is the only way the eventual winner will be recognized without controversy.
Currently, with the electoral college in play, the President elect of 2008 could win the election but lose the popular vote. So, i guess the Republicans will be in it too.
I think that the popular vote should trump all other deciders.
