I want to hear from you: which one is more important to you: U.S foreign policy or national policy?
Here is my opinion, you can disagree it if you want:
Everyday, we watch news coverage on the war in
Iraq. Don't you get sick of it? I do. Sometimes, I feel that mainstream and other independent news seem to care to cover about the U.S War in Iraq, UN peacekeepers and their possibility of going into the Darfur region, U.S possible sanction on
North Korea and Mark Foley's scandal. What about poverty and living income in the
United States? Do you know that there are many minority and poor-working class people are living in the
United States? Our government has not done anything do solve the problem. All the politicians are trying to do is cutting more taxes for rich people to get richer.
How can the
United States has the nerve to donate aids to other country while fail to feed/or take care of its own people? For me, a country should not be involved in other nations' businesses until it is able to solve its domestic issues such as taxes and income wages. I know that the
United States is the superpower of the world but how can it be a superpower when the government itself doesn't give a damn thing about its people?
The money that our government spends in foreign aid and defense (400 billion dollars) should some what be reduced and used on domestic policies such as education, homelessness, housing projects, job employment and other areas that would improve the quality of average Americans' lifestyles. It is great that our nation is generous and donating money to developing countries. However, the government must also pay attention to what the Americans want as well because they are the ones that put politicians into power.
Also, media should also play an important role in telling polticians to look at the Americans domestic policies. It should discuss issues that are overlook by the politicians and spread the awareness of it.
What do you think? I would love to hear it from you. It would be really great if we can make politicians read this blog and your opinion about it.

I think that domestic policy should come first. You have to take care of your own people before you start "exporting democracy"... I guess that's why we exported all the union jobs before attacking Iraq...
I agree. It's wrong, in my eyes at least, to let your own people suffer while you concentrate on helping the people of other countries. Yes, we should be helping them as well, but we need to start at home.
Of course, these guys are not only letting their own countrymen suffer, they're imposing similar suffering on other countries with their ill-planned wars. I hope the next batch of folk start by fixing the domestic policies.
So then why does U.S government care about other nation's businesses? It should start spending for domestic problems, you know.
This is really a no brainer.
We need to worry about ourselves before we worry about other coutries problems.
Simple as that.
However, I am a huge fan of improving international affairs.
