I don't understand it. Why must my coworkers parade past my office 12-15 times an hour and stare at me? What are you looking at? Then they are the first ones to offer up comments on worker productivity. Rubbernecking as you pass my office 45,000 times per day does not give you an idea about my productivity. Rather, it gives me an idea about your productivitiy. You can't possibly be busy if you spend an average of 3 hours per day roaming the halls staring into other people's offices.
Since you can't see my computer, do you know that right now I'm blogging on a website, or do you assume I'm typing a report because I have an open folder on my desk? I don't stare into your office on the rare occasions I pass it because I don't care what you are doing. Your productivity (or lack thereof) does not interest me one way or the other. I don't care if you spend all day looking at internet porn, as long as your computer viruses aren't transferred to my computer via our shared network. All I ask is that you afford me the same amount of privacy I afford you. Work is bothersome enough as it is without constantly having the Federation of Nosy Employees watching me all day.
