I hate arguments and avoid them when its possible without jeopardizing my morals and standards. War is the biggest argument I can think of and its the most dangerous. I still believe that there must be a less deadly way to solve these problems that face our world today, but seeing how I have yet to come up with that magical solution... we have war.
I get upset with some of the anti war activist though. Its not that I believe that they are not allowed their opinions because that is their right. That is why this is America because they have that right. Its more because they seem, to me anyway, to be a little closed minded about the issue. They feel we should just end the was and pull all troops home... and if that would end it all i would be all for it too. The thing is, fighting is going to occur whether we pull our troops home or not. America is not on every body's good side and there are those who want to attack us. The question is do we keep them busy there in their own environment or do we let them bring it here and destroy ours? That may sound selfish but survival of the fittest is the law of nature and war isn't fair.
That isn't to say that I don't support the troops though. Golly no! I have so much respect for our men and women that are fighting for our country and our rights that it isn't funny. I was born a military brat and I am the first generation born in America. That doesn't make me the most respectful maybe but I think it helps me understand a little bit about how many privlidges we really are granted and my family didn't even come from a "bad/impoverished" country. We came from Canada but during the process of my grandmother becoming a citizen, there is so much to learn about America that the whole family learned with her.
So to those who want the war to end and are so vocal about how evil the process is and how evil all of those who are killing are... I have a few questions.... Who is it that made it possible for you to have the right to voice your opinions so forcefully? Who is it that FOUGHT for your right to protest? Who fought for all of your freedoms? Who is it that is fighting to prevent these wars that you hate so much from occuring on American soil? Preventing the fighting from occuring in your backyard? Why is it that you are able to be an American? For those who aren't sure of the answer.... Because many soldiers in uniform fought wars for those rights, lost their lives for those freedoms, and are still fighting to this day. They VOLUNTEER to do this for you and their country... and they do it with pride... so try being a little bit grateful of their sacrifice when you talk about America's evil "killing machines" and if you disagree with the war than fine that is your right and I'll respect your opinion, but atleast respect the people who are trying to do their job to protect you and your rights.
