While reading The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama, I came upon a quote that I found to be so true and so close to me.
"Every man is trying to live up to his father's expectations, or make up for his father's mistakes."
I'm constantly trying to live up to my father's expectations.
Although this rings true for me, I really feel that it'll even hit closer to home for any men on here. But, whether you're a guy or gal - let me know. Are you trying to live up or make up? I'm very interested in seeing what y'all think.

Actually, I am trying to live what I think my father's expectations of me would be (if he were still alive) AND also try to learn from his "mistakes" (as I see them, anyway). Good question.
