So, the question is "Why do I blog?"
I blog so I can be heard. I used to keep a journal on paper just so that I could have a record of my thoughts, to vent and to figure things out. Once I moved to the internet, blogging was first a description of the events of a day but now it's nothing like that.
In the blogging world, I currently manage 3 blogs, including this one. One's for the (VERY) personal thoughts and events that only a few read. The other is for my friends, just for sharing whatever we want with each other. And then this one, a blog to voice out my opinion for so many others.
I just want my voice heard. Is that so much?
I feel that in the real world, the world away from a computer screen, no one's really interested in my opinions or thoughts. But with blogging, people that are interested find you. They read and they comment and you feel opened up, happy, and unburdened.
Perhaps that's why we all blog. Not to just record certain things, but to get you out there. To get the stuff off of your chest, to find that someone who agrees with your cause, to make some sort of change in the current situation.
Maybe I blog in the hope that I mean something. If there is no record, then how do you know this person even existed as a real human being? We've all become numbers in a system but maybe we can bypass that and show that we have thoughts and are unique and do matter in the whole scheme of things. There's a brain behind the name, one that uses reason, logic, and creativity.
The older generations need to know who is going to be inheriting their world. That's going to be us and we're just letting them know how it's going to be.
Peace.

I concur! I feel the same way. Thank you for putting it so well. Tashi Delek! (many blessings)
