For someone who's 'all about the environment' this is a sad story. Yeah, I'm quite aware that people and other animals eat fish, however, the excessiveness that fish are caught in to make meal and oil for chicken and pigs is grossly huge. 30 million tons of fish just to feed animals who don't need to eat fish! Excessive, I know.
"Thirty-six per cent of all marine fish caught are used to feed animals, according to a new study on forage fish from the Sea Around Us project at the University of British Columbia's Fisheries Center. "Forage fish" were so named because they often wind up as meals for other fish, marine mammals, or birds. Today we catch 30 million tones of these small, wild fish and grind them up into fish meal and oil to feed chicken, fish, and pigs."--By Jennifer Jacquet, The Tyee. Posted April 20, 2007.

Oh my God...they're CANNIBALS
Actually, the Earth is 75% covered in water, and I'm pretty sure that can hold enough fish to feed to pigs, chickens, and themselves.
I will venture the guess that they have and had no problems with reproducing.

I don't believe fish have had a problem reproducing yet, however, fish are not the natural diet of pigs and chickens. have you ever seen a chicken fishing? hah.

Milk is not natural for humans either; we are the only species that drinks it after being weaned. We drink milk; they eat fish. Big deal.
