What right does the government have to disallow public nudity? With these laws, the government is telling us we can't not wear. Thus, the government requires its citizens to own certain articles of clothing. However, unlike other laws which force commodities or goods upon people, the government neither provides support nor clothing for all of its citizens, were they be unable to satisfy the accords of exposure laws (not that I'm saying that the government should. You all should know by now that I don't believe that the government should provide any goods or services--mainly because I don't believe it should exist).
Regardless, why does the government have the authority to decide what parts of the human body are "indecent"? Why are any parts of the human body "indecent"? I know what some of you are thinking: "for the sake of the children." As if children don't have genitalia? Masking children from human sexuality (not sex, I'm not advising that children should be encouraged to be sexual) just makes them more uncomfortable about sexuality, and more afraid to ask questions that may help them in the future. Seeing their sexual organs as evil or forbidden, they may be more likely to shy away from seeking medical attention were there to be something wrong for fear of embarrassment.
The American public truly needs to become more comfortable with human sexuality. Were we more comfortable about the topic of sexuality, we might be closer to being able to understand and help/prevent rapists and paedophiles. Granted, we've come a long way as a society with respect to sexuality, but it appears that we still have a long way to go.

I see your point...I think if someone wants to be naked, then let them be. However, there are some people I would hate to see naked, so I'm a little bit happy there is a law against it :)

if more people thought the government should not exist it would not but the american people by the trickle effect voted some way these laws into existance...and nudity is allowed under the free speach thing which is kind of cool you can be naked in protest...there are also special areas for naked activist to live and play to be fair and your right it should not be treated like leprosy and you can do it your house too but i think for sanitary purposes and safety issues its a good idea to be dressed when you leave the house...you ever bump your leg or knee for whatever ridiculous reason at the store? now imagine that were your wee-knee first of all that would suck right? and then imagine if some one else reached for a top shelf item and rubbed there groing all over the item you wanted to buy ...no thank you keep your sweaty pits to yourself being dressed is and should be the standard for public regards...oh yeah and naked was okay till sin fell the earth and the whole shame factor came but i guess thjats a diffrent topic yeah?
Punctuation and capitalization make for comprehendable posts.

On this subject I agree. :)
Not that I'm for people running around naked, but here's a curious thought:
Why is it that men here can flaunt their nonfunctional nipples and get away with it, while a woman openly breastfeeding (something natural) is considered taboo?
we are human beings...plain and simple. we enter this world naked. why should we be made to cover something up that everyone else has??
i do like clothes though....
