I had to write this essay for my AP english class. I thought I was doomed, I'm only a writer. I don't paint, I don't know much about realism, however, aftering finishing this and becoming impressed. I thought it would be a good topic on here.

The words flowed endlessly from the ballpoint pen, smearing into letters, creating an accumulation of emotion. The unknown artist was creating perfection by molding realism into his developing artwork. In time, his art with this technique alone will captivate many.
Realism is a powerful technique that is used in all forms of art. For example, in paintings it can be used in a few different ways to give the artwork a different visual effect. Some artists convey realism by portraying their subject of painting just as it is, without using any abstract objects. However, it can be crafted in a completely different way, but still be considered a realistic painting. In abstract paintings different forms, colors, and spaces can be situated in certain positions that can give the same realistic characteristics by displaying a picture that the viewer depicts differently with their emotions. Their emotions alone give the piece its actuality, and the abstract painting then becomes a realistic painting.
Although many art viewers can look at a piece of abstract art and stare for hours at its complexity and still walk away oblivious to the point of the piece, there will always be a reason to it. Every piece has a meaning to it, because the artist had a reason while he was painting it. The artist wants the viewers to feel something when they look at their piece, but all that really matters is how the artist feels about the piece. That is because depictions differ, and they can be easily swayed by the artists own emotions, and how they make the viewer feel. That is how realism is achieved; the artist needs to portray as much emotion as possible, for the viewer to feel even a remotely similar emotion. After achieved effectively it will strike emotions that help the viewer relate it to their personal like experiences, which then gives realism its power,
In fact, realism is a technique that I use quite frequently in my pieces of writing. I use it to blatantly portray my feelings, I do not sway away from the point, and I just tell it like it is. Therefore, my writings are brimming with emotion that is ready to spill out and engulf the reader. It either makes the reader feel as though they were there during that moment, and they can feel that emotion, or it makes them relate to a moment in their life where they felt a similar emotion. I attempt to use very emotionally triggered, descriptive words that put the reader in my shoes. By doing so, I trap the reader in my realistic art.
All in all, realism is an effective technique in all forms of art. By displaying abstract objects, or specific objects, you can portray any emotion desired. Whether you are a writer, painter, or abstract artist you can use your emotions to transform your art into a masterpiece.

That was really good. When I write I always have to have some kind of character, too. (talking about the "unknown artist")
