Cecelia sits in the corner silently seething.
My hands are busy with other things: with naked canvas and sweaty nights spent clenching half-empty beer bottles to direct an orchestra of low-flying aircrafts. It seems that when my eyes are filled with color my fingers can't wrap around melody. Instead of strumming strings I spend my nights painting lines on the faces of distant friends and long lost love.
A double-edged sword of epic proportions: have I lost my music or found my art?
A good old fashioned western-esqe duel is taking place within me. "This soul's not big enough for the two of us." The push and pull; the give and take; the in and out of my creativity has always been comparable to the tides. It seems the tide's been up and I've been swimming in an acrylic ocean since my one-way ticket landed me in sunny San Diego. I strum my steel occasionally, but only to sing songs I've already sung a thousand times. My hands are too small to hold a paintbrush and pen at the same time.
In short: I haven't written shit in a long-ass time and every time I try I get tangled in the chords.

Sorry you are tangled in your artwork.I know what you mean. Sometimes I have so many ideas running through my head but when the blank easel is in front of me, my mind says go for it but my fingers say ??????? I think it's because sometimes I think to freaking hard and get intangled in my own web of confusion and memory loss.
