School Safety?

Tagged:  •

So I was watching the Montel show today, and they had various students on the show that had been affected in school tragedies. One member of the audience said that we should arm the teachers and the principles for student protection. But the psychiatrist in the audience said that arming the faculty would cause even more problems. But what can we do? We can't lock all the doors with chains because if there is a fire, the kids can't get out to safety. Another option was given too. What about having a local police station on campus regulating the traffic of kids through metal detectors? Whatever the right decision might be, something has to be done quickly. Especially since one of the most recent school shootings was at an Amish school and little girls were murdered for no apparent reason. We should be concerned about our children and their safety while at school. They are the future.

As much as the school district trys to do to protect it's students, it won't be enough.

It's like the increased security at an airport -- they are restricting things like hairspray and toothpaste.

Maybe it will help, maybe it won't. Until then officials are trying their best. But their best is not enough.
