In one of my classes, we were assigned a project that required having songs by The Beatles. The general rule for songs (from any band) was that if you don't have it, download it off of iTunes. In fact, iTunes was considered our "textbook." Anyway, when it came time to have songs by The Beatles, a handful of students didn't have any music by The Beatles and certainly could not download it from iTunes. Michael Jackson (and Sony) owns the rights to almost all of The Beatles' songs. So, there goes all (legal) hope for getting any authentic songs by The Beatles.
But, hark! What's this? The Beatles catalog on iTunes? Could it be true?!
According to Fortune magazine, heck yes! The Beatles on iTunes and iTunes alone.
I couldn't believe it when I saw it. My friends and I were griping about Jackson's hold on the songs only weeks ago. So, yes. I thought that was mildly significant. Significant enough to post.

The Beatles on iTunes

Whatever happened to buying vinyls or cd's themselves. Cd's are able to be ripped to a computer at higher quality and have less protection issues than iTunes songs. If you really want the Beatles' collection, simply go out and buy the albums in a store.
To my understanding the Beatles songs are going to be free, but you make it sound like you've downloaded from iTunes for the class before. So you have to pay for songs for class? That sucks.
