I know they're good topics but please, its tiring to see fifty bulletins about politics, education, gay/lesbian affairs, "truth" and "higher knowledge", propagana, and especially the government. And not like they're bad topics, but for the love of God, stop talking if you don't know anything about the topic and are just ranting on about your beliefs without really knowing what's going on from more than one angle.
I have this class called A.V.I.D., which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. Essentially, its a class thats supposed to prepare us for college. We have tutorial sessions every tuesday and thursday where we bring in a quesion we had from one of our classes so we could further develop our knowledge and understand the concept better. Thing is, 90% of the people bring in questions that have absolutely nothing to do with any of their classes. They just ask these lame philosophical questions that are mostly about people and thier character.
It's the same exact thing as a lot of the blogs around here and it's tedious to hear about them all the time. How about people start talking about personal events and their lives? Isn't that why people have blogs in the first place? To bitch and whine about thier lives to people that they don't even know so they can feel better about themselves?
Believe me, more people will look at your blog if you have something interesting there. Its cool that you want to win the $1000 from Progressive U, I mean, thats why I'm here, but it'd be nice to read about stuff that isn't mostly the same.
Everyone KNOWS that Obama becoming president would be a major change to the US and that someonewill probably try to get him assinated
Everyone KNOWS that killing babies is wrong
Everyone KNOWS that there are HUGE flaws in the Education System
Everyone KNOWS that Bush is a major factor in the decline of America
Everyone KNOWS that losing your virginity and having sex is a big step
Everyone KNOWS that secrets are kept from the public
Everyone KNOWS that the U.S. government isn't perfect
Everyone KNOWS that the youth of today is declinine in many ways
Everyone KNOWS that technology makes people lazy
Everyone KNOWS that America is incredibly fat and lazy
So stop talking about that! Show some personality and voice. Nobody wants to here about any of that crap all the time, we want YOU.
Well, I'm getting off now, I'm still in class, my scrotom itches, and I need to use the bathroom.
Leave a comment or drop a message, peace.

Ok.. I do not see anything wrong with wanting to express your opinion about issues that are important in today's society.
NO.. not everyone believes that killing a baby is wrong or there would be no cases of child abuse
NO.. not everyone knows that technology makes everyone fat and lazy or there wouldn't be skinny people in the U.S.
And NO.. not all of us are on here to just win that $1000!
Maybe this website is a chance for some of us to voice our OPINIONS!
Please allow us to do that just as we are allowing you to voice yours!
Thanks!
P.S. No one cares that your scrotum itches and you have to piss..
However when people discuss ad nauseum the same crap, it gets annoying, no?
Most people kill babies not because they think it's right, but because they can't control their anger and they lash out with deadly consequences. But it's not because they think it is ok to kill babies, I can't believe you even said that.
People know technology makes them fat and lazy, but they don't want to change because people don't like change. They also would rather blame it on something else than themselves.
I think he was making light of what he said by throwing those in...have a sense of humor why don't you.
look, it's cool to voice your opinion, but it's tiring when the same things are talked about over and over.
Where are the individuals who have actual LIVES?
Whats going on in YOUR lives, not everyone elses lives? We have the news, why do we need to hear other people talk about it everywhere else? Should they discuss it in a forum specifically catering to the topic? We have people beasting over ESPN and sports, and wouldn't we get bored if everyone talked about the last game? Its the same thing but with a different theme!
If nobody's there to listen to your opinion, that must mean that your opinion sucks. If a person has a message that people like, there will always be listeners. By writing to nobody, you're just as annoying as the Jehova's Witnesses that come by everyone's door. They're nice people, they really are, but they're just pushing the promotion too much.
And I'm trying to create a sense of relationship with my fellow bloggers, its not like I titled my post "itchy scrotom". It's just something that came to mind, plus it takes a little away from the tension. You don't have to get all mad about it
props to the attempt to gain post comments and reads by P* people off.... even if it is completely against what blogging stands for..don't read it if your bored with it.
I couldn't care less if people don't like what I said, but it really is annoying to hear the same subjects being played out over and over every single day.
I asked people to comment so they can tell me how they feel, if it's against blogging to complain about things, then I'm totally wrong
It does get incredibly annoying when people stomp all over the same topics (i use "abortion" as a great example, because so many people have blogged about that one). However, newer bloggers like those who arrive during the beginning of another scholarship contest do NOT know how overused these topics are. Perhaps a blog post like this one is a good way to show that since some newbie bloggers havent done much blog reading yet.
The problem is that the human race as a society has incredibly short-term memory over a period of time. You see this every time we have a hurricane season here in Florida. One year will completely destroy thousands of homes, but then the next year will be relatively calm. The funny part is that people blame the hurricane center because they spent money preparing for nothing, then the following year they don't prepare enough and the same cycle continues all over again.
It's like watching a dog chase a parked car, running face-first every time, then forgetting how painful it was the following day. The same is true about 911 and our current laxed attitude toward maintaining secure borders.
Thing is, you're on the wrong site if all you want to talk about is your personal life. I mean, there are surely some things that you could talk about in reference to your personal life, but most high school students will probably take that to mean they should talk about the drama in their lives, how stupid their teachers and parents are, how they sometimes wish they never had siblings, etc. That's not what we want here. We want to talk about things that encourage the growth of our society. And frankly, to educate people. There are tons of people that hear about stem cell research and immediately assume its wrong, without knowing the details of it. So, people come here and explain exactly what is going on with stem cell research, and voila... you might have taught someone something.
I do agree that there are some topics that are horribly overdone. We've had an influx of Christianity and abortion posts in the past couple days, and this drives the vets here absolutely insane, because there's already so many blogs out there about it. It's like beating a dead horse.
But there are some things that happen in the news that aren't talked about enough. Rarely do you see people on here blogging about the FDA approving one drug, and rejecting another, creating a monopoly on the first.
And yes, people should put some personality into their posts. We don't like posts that are just lists of dry facts. But that doesn't mean we don't expect you to write with proper English (most of the time, anyway), or cite your sources, or talk about news topics.

Check out the latest entry in the Between The Lines column!
quite right. You musn't misunderstand me when I say personality is key, I don't care about people's bad relationships or students mad at their teachers, I want to hear someone who stands out and spreads their word that people can relate to.
A person who speaks of an unforgetable experience or conversation that inspired them to do something or become something is what I want to hear.
My next blog will share some, please stick around if you would like to hear more

Eh...there are some of us that are giving that idea a try...just poke around a little. You may be pleasantly surprised. Usually those bloggers tend to be the less frequent posters, since such a post requires a little more thought than just writing off a paragraph or two on the latest hot-button topic. Being that it is a scholarship blog, there will be a lot of posturing and such from certain sectors.
Marco, I'm willing to stick around and wait, but the pressure is on now. Good luck! ;)
