What is the deal with such a discriminating society? Why are people's total future based solely on what makes them an individual, their name? If my name decided if I got the job compared to an Ashley or an Ebony then there is no future for me. People are full of stereotypical information, saying every Jose is a drug dealer that has a full body armor of tattoos, has two dope cases and a serious record. There are those who believe the name Deedrica or Denikequia must be a ghetto girl wth two baby daddy's, living in the projects, and sports all types of fake gucci and prada. Is it true that every Ashley is a slutty white girl that has parents that bend to her every beckoning call, she's popular in the Girls Gone Wild atmosphere and she will never really amount to anything but trailer park trash? What has this world become nothing but a world for its own disaster and downfall. How can every Sadija be a future terrorists of the United States of America? The names we find in Corporate America like Brian or Briana what makes them different from all the others, is it the spelling, the way we say it, or is it really just a guess that maybe because this person has a decent sounding name that we take a chance and hope they are not completely opposite of our impressions. I recently watched a television show that gave me the idea for this blog post. A group of panelists were chosen to decide how or what they felt about a person just based on their names. The panelists were of all diiferent races and nationalities and what made the situation even worse was that they were unaware the people they were so harshly criticizing weren't even adults, they were young children not even older than 10. It was also such a shame that the people who downgraded a name the most was from the race that the name sounded like it came from. The African-Americans downgraded a name that sounded black. A Dominican dissed the name Jose and a Caucasian embarrassed his race by critically dissing the name Ashleigh. Unfortunately, the names were far from what they seemed. There was an African-American with a name that seemed fit for a Caucasian and there were Caucasian children that had names that came across as African-American names. So, we as people what are we doing to each other and ourselves as well? We are killing our own race and degrading our own society, how do we fix this?

america is one of the few countries ive heard of where we discriminate against people for anything and everything. Most other countries have maybe 5 religions, america has many more. We are all different races and colors, most other countries all are the same color with traditional traits like blonde hair, red hair, whatever. White people have mexican names, mexican people have caucasian names. African americans have white names, so on so forth. its weird
This is something that is so common that if you don't play close enough attention yourself you might even do it before you realize what you are doing. My name is Selina though, so I wonder what gets corresponded to that.
There's no escaping the fact that African-Americans that live in the ghetto are a little more... creative when naming their children. And Caucasians are a little more conservative. It cannot be denied that certain names have certain ethnic connotations- have you ever met a hispanic girl named Aioki Lee? Or a white girl named Mercedes Luz? There are names that actually come from different countries, and are therefore more common among those of that ethnic background. I'm not saying that's ALWAYS the rule, but it IS the usual case.
