In july of 2007 i had a baby boy. Iam now a senior in highschool and have returned to get my diploma. Last year no one treated me any diffrent now they do. I hate the way people sterotype "teen mothers". We are not all stupid young girls.
Yes i made a mistake but that does not make me stupid.not all teen mothers have babys in order to stay in a relationship. Most people i come in contact with who hear that i've had a baby(such as my new teachers) treat me as though iam something that should be pittied. Iam not a stupid girl and i do care about school. I am a b student and will continue to be. I wish people would start treating me and and all the teen mothers like we are people that deserve respect too. We are no diffrent then the next person. Give us your support give us your love but save the rest for someone who wants it.

Your absolutely right! You do deserve respect, and in some ways you derserve more respect than others because you took a reponsibility that even some adults don't bother with. You are a strong woman, you chose to stay in school instead of become a drop out. You face the people who put you down and look down on you, but don't let all that get to you, because your more than them. If they were in your position they may not come to school and put up with it like you. Stay strong!
I am not sure that even though this is nothing new, the world is still not sure how to except it. sixty years ago it was okay and somewhat the norm. but today we are still not dealing well with this. I guess when they look at there grandparents and great grandparents they fail to realize how old they were when they were having children. My grandfather was 32 when he married my 16 yr old grandmother and they were married 56 yrs before she left us. Now in todays world that would be a child sexual preditor. but does it make it wrong. I am guessing that the grandchildren of these folks are the same ones who judge you for having the child. The world is changing and I am not sure that all is for the best.
