The Supreme Court released a list of cases this morning, but made no mention of the DC gun control case.
This case, for those who don't know, revolves around the famous DC Gun Ban. It was ruled by a lower court to be unconstitutional, as it infringes upon the 2nd Amendment Right to keep and bear a firearm.
The ruling was appealed to the Supreme Court in hopes that they'd say that the law is constitutional (and that guns are bad and gun owners are smelly), but apparently the Supreme Court decided to not hear it.
This doesn't mean that this is over. They could hear it in the future, it just wan't set to be heard now.
Those who support the lower court's decision believe that the individual is given a right to keep and bear firearms. Those who oppose the lower court's decision suggest that such a right is only given to state militias (or they ignore the 2nd amendment all together and try to cloud the issue by talking about criminals as victims and gun owners as criminals.)
I hope that this court ruling will serve as notice to other cities, like San Francisco, and to anti-gun states like Wisconsin and Illinois.
The 2nd Amendment is there for a reason.
