Has the War Helped?

Now, I hear a lot of people talk about human rights. You know, we should let murderers and rapists live because even thought they took away 20 some odd other peoples' right to live, they still have that right. I find this interesting because typically these are the same poeple speaking out against the Iraq War. But y'all, don't those poor people that have suffered through endless pain and hardships, those INNOCENT people have the same right as these murderers. Don't they have the right to live peaceful and happy lives. Doesn't each man and woman and child have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. ABSOLUTELY y'all. (This blog is more testimony than stats.)
Now check this out. There is this lil town in Iraq called Ramana. Now this town has had to be recaptured from terrorist groups like 3 or 4 times by the Marines because they had enough men to capture the city but not stay and hold it. Funny how since the troops surge it hasn't had to be recaptured. Hmm. Anyway, I was watching Shootout on the History Channel and this episode happened to be about one of the recapturings of Ramana. You wanna know what they found. It's pretty nasty so if you have a weak stomach you should probably stop reading. They entered the city and they entered this small house that had been abandoned only minutes before. When they entered the house they heard the terrified quivers of what sounded like more than one person. The house smelled like rotting flesh and decaying bone. Following the sounds a small marine outfit entered what they saw to be a torture room. What was in this room. Two men men as skinny as those people in the holocaust pictures. These two men were beaten and bloodied. They looked around the room and found even more disturbing sites, if you can believe it. They were broken-hearted to find piles of bodies just stacked up against the wall/ They saw the ropes and hoses hanging from the ceiling that they would use to hand these people from, either by their hands, feet, or necks. They found rubber hoses on the ground that were evidently used for whipping. THey found other whips, some with sharp objects in them to maximize the pain. They found a number of other torture materials, some to graphic to tell. I think the one that got me was the syringes; some full of gasoline, others emptied of gasoline. Y'all, this isn't funny, this isn't a game that Bush is having a laugh at. Bush isn't just trying to play a big game of RISK. He's trying to help these people. He's pushing for progress over there. And isn't that what y'all are about, progress?
