In the spirit of the Holiday Season, a lot of people like to get really angry and pissed off about a bunch of pointless crap that they feel, in some way belittles their holiday, whichever that happens to be. So, with that in mind, I present the somewhat more candid most wonderful time of the year
It’s the most wonderful time of the year
With the government touting
And everyone’s pouting
What of my holiday?
It’s the most wonderful time of the year
There’ll be legislation passed
That is bound to leave some aghast
Cause everyone wants to see
All the other Holidays unseen
And Happy Holidays is just some
Liberal crap
It’s the most wonderful time of the year
There’ll be too much boycotting
Of stores who dare to say
Happy Holiday
It’s the most wonderful time of the year

I love you...

Heh. I don't have a problem with Happy Holidays, with the lone exception that if a store chooses to say "Happy Holidays" because they don't want to offend anyone by saying "Merry Christmas" . . . then I get upset.
It infers that my religion is somehow substandard to the rest and making reference to it is offensive....
If they say Happy Holidays for any other reson.... other than "not wanting to offend" . . then I don't care. Some shops really DO just want to be all inclusive and make sure everyone is included.
Well, as I have said, I think the argument is nonsence. Although I understand the point of view, I totally disagree with the idea that the use of the term Merry Christmas is deragatory. It's the sort of innocent assumption that every one makes. Being all inclusive is nice, as is trying not to offend people. What I think is pretty silly is that people are offended.

I've noticed that many people are very easily offended over simple things, so they refuse to go to a specific church, or talk with people, or shop at a store, just because of what has been said or done. But really, in a sense, they're just running from their problems, or just complaining about them, instead of solving them.
If you are offended by something and you leave, that is adressing the problem. It is addressing it in a non-agressive way that makes everyone happy. If, for instance, someone is unhappy that a store has Christmas decorations and not Hannuka ones, they can do three things, leave, make a fuss, or do nothing. Leaving is a perfectly reasonable thing to do.
