Let me just say that I love Christmas! I love the smells, the chill in the air and the warmth of cookies in the oven. I know that it is the season of giving but I cannot help but wonder when this was established? When in our society did it become okay just to volunteer or give from the day after Thanksgiving until December 25th? Based on my knowledge, homeless people don't just show up on holidays and suddenly they have no clothes or shelter. I believe that year round there should be people helping eachother and giving to eachother. I also wonder if this is another peer pressure situation....just donating because "everyone is doing it". I thought that it was only high school where these corrupt beliefs were present, but clearly they continue on into adulthood. I am not saying that I want world peace, because I am not running for Miss America (thank goodness), but I hope that people realize that giving feeling can last year round if they look inside themselves and give up their selfish ways. *breathes* Well that will be all I suppose....until next time.
